Anand Mahindra Tweets About Creative Parking Space: Fashioned From A Plastic Overhead Water Tank

Plastic is possibly the worst kind of pollutant there is. It harms the environment more than any other form of pollutant. Environmentalists have been voicing the need to ban the use of plastic and its products for years, but only a few seem to have taken notice.

Anand Mahindra

The government and other private organisations have been promoting 'recycling and reuse', and the Mahindra Group is possibly the biggest voice of them all. Anand Mahindra recently banned plastic water bottles at his office, and the world was in awe of it.

Now, in a recent tweet, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group posted a photo of an old, plastic overhead water tank that has been converted into a covered parking space for a couple of two-wheelers.

Mr Mahindra's tweet said, "I had tweeted about banning plastic water bottles in my office & I suppose that could apply to a number plastic products around us. But good to see people creatively recycling stuff as well!"

While the picture was shared for laughs, Mr Mahindra definitely had a rooted message about recycling. The tweet received many positive replies, and Twitterati even applauded Mr Mahindra's inspirational ban of plastic at his workplace.

Thoughts About The Anand Mahindra's Tweet About Creative Recycling

'Lead by example' is an old proverb and Mr Mahindra has taken that to heart. We need more folk like him that inspire the rest of us mortals (in thought) to be more responsible towards this planet we call home.

To the folk who thought of this genius and rather creative idea, job well done! Only, what have you lads done with the piece that was cut away? Our friendly neighborhood mechanic Rizwan bhai said we could have used it as an extended rood for the plastic parking space.

In reality, the government does very little to enforce a ban on plastic. The governement of Maharashtra recently banned plastic and plastic products across the state. That ban lasted one week. Obviously the idea behind the ban was to have manufacturers of plastics cough up a certain amount of money as a bribe. There cannot be any other explanation. This is how the Indian government works. Absolutely pathetic!
