Hennessey Venom GT World's Fastest Edition Launched...& Sold
The top speed run of Hennessey Venom GT last month at NASA's Kennedy Space Center gained plenty of attention world wide. The highly modified Lotus powered by a GM engine on steroids managed to shatter the top speed figure of Bugatti Veyron Super Sport by reaching 435.311 km/h.
Though the car did not make it to the record books due to certain official rules it was still good enough for John Hennessey and not to mention, all the Americans cheering for their car.
Watch: Hennessey Venom GT Reach It's Top Speed
To make the best out of the occasion Hennessey announced a special edition model to commemorate the top speed run earlier this week. It certainly did not take them long to come out with with special edition Venom GT. After all, the only features a different paint job and only three of these made.
Dubbed Hennessey Venom GT World's Fastest Edition, the car gets mostly white paint job, with red and blue stripes running down the middle of the car. As you might have already guessed, the colours represent the American flag.
Hennessey asked for $1.25 million for each Venom GT World's Fastest Edition and it did not take three patriotic Americans (I am only guessing they were all Americans, but am most probably right) long to buy all three cars.
Hennessey Venom GT is powered by a massive 7.0-liter V8 engine that's fitted with twin-turbochargers. Since the car only weighs 1244.2 kg the car effortlessly reaches 300k km/h in just 13.63 seconds and that's an officially recognised world record.
