Toyota Innova Hycross Deliveries Commence – Hybrid Variant Demands 1 Year Waiting Period
The deliveries of the much-awaited Toyota Innova Hycross have commenced in India and the hybrid variant commands an almost 1 year waiting period due to high demand.
That being said, a significant number of bookings were made even before the launch of the Innova Hycross MPV in India and a good number of these customers are said to be existing Toyota customers.
Speaking about the Toyota Innova Hycross, the MPV was recently launched in India and it is available in 5 trim levels - G, GX, VX, ZX, and ZX(O). However, the hybrid variants are available in VX, ZX, and ZX(O) trim levels. Apart from that, the Innova Hycross is priced from Rs 18.3 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Unlike the Innova Crysta, the new Toyota Innova Hycross uses the more advanced TNGA-C platform, which uses a more modern and lighter monocoque frame instead of the bulky ladder frame chassis. Furthermore, the new hybrid powertrain further aids acceleration with immediate torque delivery as well.
Speaking about the powertrain, the Toyota Innova Hycross comes with two powertrain options. The base engine is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine with 172bhp of peak power and 205Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated, Atkinson cycle petrol engine and an electric motor. In combined form, this powertrain produces 184.8bhp of peak power and 206Nm of peak torque.
Moreover, this hybrid powertrain enables the Toyota Innova Hycross to travel in pure EV mode for a limited distance as well. Also, the new Toyota Innova Hycross is 20mm longer, 20mm wider, and also sports a mammoth 100mm extra space between its front and rear wheels.
Diving into details, the latest TVC of the Toyota Innova Hycross claims that the model can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 9.5 seconds while delivering a hatchback-rivalling fuel efficiency figure of 21.1km/l of petrol. Part of these mesmerising figures are down to the new platform and electrified powertrain.
