Price Hike Alert: Maruti Suzuki Hikes Prices Of Nexa Cars – XL6, Baleno, Ciaz & Ignis

Maruti Suzuki had earlier announced that it would hike the prices of its cars from January 2023 onwards and prices for the Nexa range of cars have been hiked up to Rs 25,000.

Additionally, the updated prices are in effect from January 16 and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis witnessed the highest price hike among all Nexa range of cars, whereas the Baleno and XL6 witnessed the price hike to a lesser extent.

It is also worth mentioning that Maruti Suzuki has not hiked the prices of the Grand Vitara and the prices for this newly launched SUV continues to be the same as before ranging between Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

On the other hand, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan has been hiked up to Rs 20,000. On top of that, prices for the more popular Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback and Maruti Suzuki XL6 MPV have been hiked up to Rs 12,000 depending on the respective variants.

Diving into details, the price hike for Maruti Suzuki Ignis ranges between Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000, and the base Maruti Suzuki Ignis equipped with the 1.2-litre petrol engine and 5-speed manual transmission now costs Rs 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is also the least expensive model in the Nexa lineup of cars.

Despite being one of the best-selling cars, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has witnessed price hike to a lesser extent as the price hike ranges between Rs 2,000 to Rs 12,000. It is also worth mentioning that the new Baleno hatchback is now priced between Rs 6.56 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 9.83 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Furthermore, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz now ranges between Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and prices for the Maruti Suzuki XL6 now ranges between Rs 11.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) to Rs 14.52 lakh (ex-showroom, India).


Thoughts About Maruti Suzuki Hiking Prices Of Nexa Cars

Though the latest price hike introduced by Maruti Suzuki makes Nexa cars even more expensive, it is not by so much that it will negatively impact the sales figures of the Indo-Japanese automaker. However, we do expect sales figures of the Ignis to go down for at least a couple of months.
