Speaking about Mahindra XUV400, the electric SUV is among the most awaited EVs in the country and it directly rivals the Tata Nexon EV Prime and Tata Nexon EV Max. That being said, the Mahindra XUV400 is offered in three variants and comes with two battery pack options.
Speaking about the powertrain, the new Mahindra XUV400 is powered by a 147.5bhp electric motor with 310Nm of peak torque. As mentioned, the new Mahindra XUV400 comes with two battery pack options where the smaller battery pack is rated at 34.5kWh and the larger battery pack is rated at 39.4kWh.
Thanks to this powertrain setup, Mahindra claims that the XUV400 can sprint from a complete standstill to 100km/h in just 8.3 seconds and can travel 456 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack. However, it is also worth mentioning that the Mahindra XUV400 equipped with a smaller battery pack can cover an equally respectable 375 kilometres.
Also, in terms of charging, Mahindra claims that the new XUV400 electric SUV can be fully charged in just 50 minutes using a suitable DC fast charger. However, the same feat using a more conventional 7.2kW AC charger consumes more than 6 hours of time.
Prices for the Mahindra XUV400 starts from Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the 'EC' trim. However, the 'EC' trim equipped with the faster 7.2kW (vs 3.3 kW) charger is priced at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Finally, the top-spec Mahindra XUV400 EL is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and this variant also comes with a larger battery pack.
Thoughts About The New Mahindra XUV400
Though Mahindra XUV400 neither has the cheapest nor the most expensive variant, the prices for the electric SUV seems very well judged and it is sure to attract Nexon EV customers as well. Apart from that, the Mahindra XUV400 is a physically larger SUV makes it a tempting proposition.
