Volvo XC40 Recharge To Be Launched Soon: Details Leaked Via Official Website
Volvo is gearing up to launch the new XC40 Recharge in India. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is an electric vehicle based on the Volvo XC40 SUV.
The upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge will be brought to India as a Completely Built Units (CBU) and it won't be available as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit anytime soon.
Since the Volvo XC40 Recharge is a CBU model, the Volvo XC40 Recharge is priced a bit higher than the standard variants at Rs 75 lakh in India.
Volvo has also released more than a few details regarding the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge electric SUV on their official website and we expect the Chinese-owned Swedish automaker to soon open the bookings for the electric SUV.
According to Volvo's official website, the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge will come with not one but two electric motors, each powering the respective axles. This means the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge will be an all-wheel-drive model.
Specifications wise, the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge comes with a 75kWh battery pack and most of this stored energy is utilised by the above-mentioned two electric motors. These electric motors together produce 408bhp of peak power and 660Nm of peak torque.
Thanks to this potent powertrain setup on the upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge, the performance is brisk with 0-100km/h coming up in just 4.9 seconds. However, the topspeed in the Volvo XC40 Recharge is limited to just 180km/h.
Moreover, Volvo claims that this powertrain could enable Volvo XC40 Recharge to cover 418kms on a single charge and charge up to 80 per cent in approximately 40minutes using a suitable fast charger.
In terms of practicality, despite the large battery pack, the Volvo XC40 Recharge can gobble up 414-litres of luggage in its boot.
In terms of design, the silhouette of the Volvo XC40 Recharge remains similar to the standard Volvo XC40, but there are a few elements that help the electric model stand out such as the completely sealed front grille, a few 'Recharge' badges, a set of new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a few more.
Rest of the design elements such as the L-shaped taillamps, body creases. Thor-hammer LED DRLs, headlights are similar to the standard Volvo XC40 model.
On the inside, the Volvo XC40 Recharge comes with top-quality interior materials. The first theme uses Nappa leather and Nubuck textile with vinyl, whereas the second theme uses Charcoal leather for a very dark theme.
Apart from these, the Volvo XC40 Recharge also gets features such as Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, a 9-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree surround-view camera, multiple airbags, emergency braking assistance, electronic parking brake, lane assist system and many more.
According to Volvo, the new Volvo XC40 Recharge will come in 5 different shades - Denim Blue, Fusion Red, Glacier Silver, Crystal White, and Black Stone.
