As per the description and photos shared by the Volkswagen Virtus user, the ceiling light of the newly launched sedan has fallen off after tackling a small stretch of bad roads.

According to the user, he was driving the sedan on a bad stretch of road at speeds ranging from 5km/h to 7km/h for approximately 6km. Moreover, the user has mentioned that he is using the GT variant of the Vitus sedan - Which is the top-spec variant of the newly launched sedan.

In terms of the design, the exterior design of the newly launched Volkswagen Virtus sedan looks very Volkswagen-like with its simple and sharp lines. This type of clean look gives the sedan a very understated look that is likely to age well with time.

On the inside, the Volkswagen Virtus has a strong resemblance to the Volkswagen Taigun SUV that was launched last year. This is to be expected as both vehicles are built on the same MQB-A0 IN platform. However, this is not a bad thing as the interior looks very premium with its layered dashboard effect and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

Speaking of the infotainment system, the large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system also comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and other features include connected car tech, automatic climate control system, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, rear AC vents, 8-speakers, cooled glove box, 4-USB ports, an electric sunroof, and many more.

In India, the Volkswagen Virtus sedan is available in two engine options - The base engine is a 1.0-litre TSI engine, whereas the more powerful engine is a 1.5-litre TSI unit.

In terms of specifications, the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine produces 113bhp of peak power and 178Nm of peak torque. This engine can be specified either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine produces 148bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque. However, this engine comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and this gearbox better suits the character of the powertrain.

The 1.5-litre TSI engine is also a bit more sophisticated as it comes with 'Active Cylinder Technology' that deactivates two of its four cylinders for better fuel economy.

In terms of dimension, the Volkswagen Virtus is the biggest sedan in its segment as it measures 4,561mm long, 1,752mm wide, 1,507mm tall, and sports a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Thanks to the larger exterior dimension and clever packing, the boot space of the Volkswagen Virtus is one of the largest in its segment at 521 litres.
