Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid SUV Unveiled - Bookings Open For Rs 25,000
Japanese carmaker Toyota has revealed the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. Bookings are now open for the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder for Rs 25,000.
Japanese carmaker Toyota has revealed the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos. Bookings are now open for the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Specs & Hybrid System
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered with two powertrain options - both featuring 1.5-litre petrol engines with either an integrated starter generator (ISG) mild hybrid setup or a strong hybrid setup. Toyota claims that the new Hyryder offers best-in-class mileage figures.
The strong hybrid version of the Hyryder's powertrain options uses 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine paired with a single electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. This engine offers up 87bhp and 122Nm of torque while the motor provides 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. However, when combine the engine and motor are limited to just 114bhp. The strong hybrid powertrain is paired with an e-CVT gearbox.
The 1.5-litre mild hybrid powerplant is borrowed from Maruti Suzuki and this pushes out 100.5bhp and 135Nm of peak torque. The engine is offered with both a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive guises.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Design & Features
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder features a distinct design with a split lighting design with DRLs on top and the actual LED projector headlights sitting lower on the front bumper. The acrylic front grille connects the twin daytime LED units to the Toyota badge. The front bumper also features a large central air intake.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser features blacked-out outside rear view mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. The SUV rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels which are housed in large squared-off wheel arches which in turn features plastic cladding that is also present on the bumpers and side to give the Hyryder a tougher look. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder also features a blacked-out roof.
At the rear, the windscreen is raked sharply and the SUV features LED taillights with C-shaped elements on the tailgate that are connected to each other by a thick chrome slat.
Inside, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder features a dual-tone brown and black theme. The dashboard features soft-touch elements and plays host to the large 9-inch infotainment system which allows phone connectivity and access to Toyota's i-Connect connected car suite with over 55+ features. The new system also features smartwatch connectivity and voice control.
Other features loaded onto the Hyrder SUV include a Head-up Display, 306 degree camera, and a Panoramic sunroof along with ambient lighting.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes packed with a host of safety tech including 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, Cruise control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Vehicle Stability Control, ISOFIX mounts and all-wheel disc brakes.
