Toyota Hyryder SUV Teased Again - Exterior Partially Revealed
The upcoming new Toyota Hyrder SUV has been teased again. The latest teaser gives a very good idea about the front-end design of the upcoming Toyota hybrid SUV.
Looking at the latest teaser images, the design of the Toyota Hyryder seems to have taken inspiration from Toyota's highly successful RAV4 crossover SUV with its large geometrical air dam and angular LED DRLs.
With the launch of the Toyota Hyryder SUV, the Japanese automobile giant will be entering one of the most competitive segments in the Indian automobile industry and we expect Toyota to unveil the SUV on 1 July 2022.
When launched, the Toyota Hyryder SUV will rival the likes of other SUVs in the segment such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and a few more SUVs.
To be successful in this segment, Toyota should make the Hyryder SUV stand out from its competitors by offering something different. Toyota knows this and offers not one but two hybrid powertrain setups.
This hybrid powertrain setup is likely to attract a bulk of Indian consumers given the rising fuel prices in the country.
Moreover, both these hybrid powertrains use identical 1.5-litre petrol engines. However, one of the powertrains uses mild-hybrid technology, whereas the other powertrain is a self-charging hybrid unit capable of pure EV propulsion.
According to the specifications revealed by a previously leaked document, the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine puts out a respectable 101.6bhp of peak power and this engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain produces a bit more peak power at 114.5bhp and comes exclusively mated to an eCVT gearbox. Also, unique to this segment, this variant is likely to sport an all-wheel-drive system, where the rear wheels are driven by an electric motor.
This will make the upcoming Toyota Hyryder the only SUV to offer an AWD set-up in its segment. Also, this feature will attract the interest of lot more customers as well.
It is also worth mentioning that the Toyota Hyryder hybrid SUV has been jointly developed by both Toyota and Maruti Suzuki for the Indian market. Moreover, this SUV is codenamed 'D22' by Toyota and 'YFG' by Maruti Suzuki.
In terms of features, the upcoming Toyota Hyryder hybrid SUV is expected to come equipped with features such as wireless charging, a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 360-degree surround-view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, connected car tech, air purifier, climate control, electric sunroof and much more.
Also, safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control (TC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors, rear view camera and much more.
Thoughts About Toyota Hyryder SUV
The launch of the Toyota Hyryder hybrid SUV will not only attract more customers to the Toyota showroom, but it will also improve the brand image and recognition.
