Toyota Hyryder Hybrid SUV Interior Teased
Toyota has teased the interior of the upcoming Hyryder SUV ahead of its launch in India. This is the first time Toyota has teased the interior images of the upcoming hybrid SUV.
The latest teaser of the upcoming Hyryder revealed a few interior images of the hybrid SUV and looking at these teaser images, we expect the Toyota Hyryder to feature a very upmarket interior.
Diving into the details, the teaser images reveal a dual-tone theme inside the cabin with the lower half of the cabin finished in a dark brown colour. Apart from this, the door handles are finished in chrome and the AC vents also seem to feature chrome surrounds.
However, the most eye-catching detail from the teaser image of the Hyryder SUV is the HVAC controls that seem to have been taken straight from the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback and upcoming Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
However, this is not the only thing that's shared with Maruti Suzuki, as the teaser image also reveals the large touchscreen infotainment unit that can also be seen in the above-mentioned vehicles.
This is to be expected as the upcoming Toyota Hyrder SUV has been jointly developed by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki for the Indian market. Moreover, this SUV is codenamed 'D22' by Toyota and 'YFG' by Maruti Suzuki.
We expect Maruti Suzuki to launch their version of the 'Hyryder' around the festive season. However, unlike the previous partnership from both these companies, the roles of the partnership is reversed this time as Toyota will be manufacturing the SUV.
Moreover, the manufacturing of both the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki 'YFG' will take place at Toyota's manufacturing facility in Bidadi, Karnataka.
In terms of features, the upcoming Toyota Hyryder hybrid SUV is expected to come equipped with features such as a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 360-degree surround-view camera, climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, air purifier, connected car tech, electric sunroof and much more.
Apart from that, safety features will include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control (TC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors, rear view camera and much more.
Coming to the powertrain, a few leaked documents had previously revealed that the upcoming Toyota Hyryder SUV will feature not one but two hybrid engine options. Moreover, both these engine options use 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engines.
Despite using similar petrol engines, the mild-hybrid unit can be specified with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the strong-hybrid unit comes exclusively mated to an eCVT gearbox.
When launched, the Toyota Hyryder SUV will rival the likes of other SUVs in the segment such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and a few more SUVs.
Thoughts About The Toyota Hyryder SUV
The 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine comes with EV mode for short distances and this feature will be a big boost for the SUV given the soaring fuel prices in India.
