This Mahindra Dealer Delivers More Than 100 Scorpio N SUVs In A Single Day
Mahindra recently started the deliveries of the Scorpio N SUV and a Mahindra dealer in Rohtak, Haryana has delivered more than 100 Scorpio N SUVs in a single day. Moreover, the mega delivery event included a few XUV700 SUVs as well. Diving into the details, the video of the mega delivery event was shared by Er Sandeep Malik on his YouTube channel and the delivery event itself was organised in a resort by Lohchab Group (Mahindra Dealer).
It is also worth mentioning that most of the Scorpio N SUVs in the mega delivery event were the top-spec 'Z8 L' variants. Looking at the trend, most customers who were waiting for the delivery of their much-awaited Scorpio N SUV have opted for the 4x2 automatic variant instead of the 4X4 variant.
Mahindra is currently aiming to deliver 7,000 units of Scorpio N SUVs by Dussehra and the company is also planning to keep the waiting period under 4 months for the first 25,000 Mahindra Scorpio N customers.
At present, Mahindra has received more than 1 lakh bookings for the Scorpio N SUV and the booking amount for the SUV is currently capped at Rs 21,000. Moreover, it is also worth mentioning that it took just 30 minutes for the automaker to cross 1 lakh bookings for the Scorpio N SUV.
At the time of launch, the prices for the Mahindra Scorpio N SUV started from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 'Z2' variant with the petrol engine and manual transmission. Whereas the top-spec 'Z8L' trim with a diesel engine, an automatic gearbox, and a 4WD system is priced at Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Also, the new Mahindra Scorpio N SUV is available in 7 different exterior colour options and includes Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, and Grand Canyon.
Under the bonnet, the newly-launched 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N SUV comes with two engine options - One petrol engine and one diesel engine, but the diesel engine is available in two states of tune.
Starting with the diesel powertrains, the base diesel engine is a 130bhp variant of the 2.2-litre turbocharged engine with 300Nm of peak torque. Moreover, this engine comes exclusively mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This is the same powertrain that does its duty on the Mahindra Thar SUV.
On the other hand, the more powerful diesel engine produces a much more respectable 172.5bhp of peak power and 370Nm of peak torque. However, the torque output jumps to 400Nm when paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Coming to the petrol engine option, the 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine puts out a mammoth 200bhp of peak power and 370Nm of peak torque. Moreover, peak torque goes up by another 10Nm in the variant equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Thoughts About The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N SUV
Though Mahindra had planned to roll out 20,000 units of Scorpio N SUV by the end of this year with priority for the top-spec Scorpio N SUVs, the automaker should speed up the production to meet the demand from the market. If not, it will be difficult for the automaker to hold customers.
