Tata Safari Dark Edition Launched: Prices Start From Rs 19.05 Lakh
Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Safari Dark Edition in India and according to Tata Motors, the Dark Edition of the Tata Safari SUV is available in 4 different variants - XT+, XTA+, XZ+ and XZA+.
The prices for the Tata Safari Dark Edition starts from Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the special edition SUV also gets some additional features other than the blacked-out treatment.
TATA SAFARI DARK EDITION EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN
The Tata Safari is a well-designed full-size 7-seater SUV based on the Tata Harrier and looks-wise, though the Tata Safari looks almost identical to the Tata Harrier from the front, it looks far more muscular and bigger from the rear. With the Dark Edition, the Tata Safari looks even more menacing and sinister with its all-black overalls.
From the sides, the black shade on the fender and the 18-inch Blackstone alloy wheels neatly complements the Oberon Black exterior body colour. Overall, the new Tata Safari Dark Edition is one of the best-looking 7-seater SUVs currently available in the country.
Moving inside, the new Tata Safari Dark Edition takes the dark theme on the inside as well with distinct dark finishes, a special Blackstone Matrix dashboard, and premium Dark upholstery (Nappa Granite Black colour scheme with Blue Tri Arrow perforations and Blue stitches).
This Dark theme gives the new Tata Safari Dark Edition a slightly sportier vibe and the overall Dark theme is generally less prone to stains.
TATA SAFARI DARK EDITION ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
The new Tata Safari Dark Edition continues to use the tried-and-tested turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine from the Tata Safari and this engine produces a healthy 167.67bhp at 3,750 rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm.
Like the standard Tata Safari, the Tata Safari Dark Edition can also be specified with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
TATA SAFARI DARK EDITION FEATURES
The standard variants of the Tata Safari itself are well equipped for its price range and come equipped with features such as a semi-digital instrument console, a large 9-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected car tech, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), smart keyless entry, push-button start/stop, power-operated ORVMs, auto-folding ORVMs, cruise control and many more.
The Tata Safari Dark Edition on the other hand comes with a few more additional equipments such as ventilated seats on both 1st row and 2nd row seats, Air Purifier, and wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
Safety-wise, the new Tata Safari Dark Edition will come with a similar set of safety features as in the standard variants of the Tata Safari such as 6 airbags, ESP, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, ABS with EBD, auto-dimming IRVM and many more.
TATA SAFARI DARK EDITION FUEL EFFICIENCY
As per the official ARAI figures, the Tata Safari's fuel-efficiency figure stands at 16.14 km/l for both automatic and manual transmission models. Since the Tata Safari Dark Edition also uses identical mechanicals, we expect the Tata Safari Dark Edition to return identical fuel efficiency figures.
Thoughts About Tata Safari Dark Edition
The Tata Safari is one of the best-looking SUVs in the market and the Dark Edition variant of the 7-seater makes it even more desirable to own. On top of that, the added features are a welcome addition to the SUV's feature list.
