Tata Motors Receives Massive Order For 1,300 Commercial Vehicles From VRL Logistics
Tata Motors has bagged an order of 1,300 commercial vehicles from VRL Logistics Limited. This is the largest order of its kind in recent times and is bound to boost Tata Motors' manufacturing numbers in the coming weeks.
Tata Motors is the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India with a wide range of commercial vehicles to suit all sorts of requirements. Right from small commercial vehicles like the Tata Ace to large trucks like the Ultra and Signa, Tata Motors has every need in the CV space covered. Hence, placing such a large order with Tata Motors was a no-brainer.
VRL on the other is one of the stalwarts in the surface logistics industry in India. Headquartered in Hubli, Karnataka, VRL is one of the largest logistics and transport companies in India. The company has operations in 23 states and 4 union territories and operates around 4,360 transport vehicles. Of these, 419 are tourist buses and 3,941 are good transport vehicles.
Now, VRL is all set to add 1,300 more vehicles to its fleet. To help with this expansion, an order has been placed with Tata Motors. According to a statement, the order consists of trucks from Tata Motors' Intermediate & Light CV range, Medium & Heavy CV range and Heavy CV range.
Basically, the order consists of all kind of commercial vehicles from Tata Motors as VRL has different usage scenarios for different models. Vehicles like the Tata Ace and Tata Intra will be used for intra-city tranpsortation and can be used for last-mile deliveries too. Bigger trucks like the Tata Signa and Tata Ultra will be used for inter-city and cross-country transportation purposes.

As a part of the Power of 6 philosophy, Tata's commercial vehicles come with lots of technology to help boost its usability. They also feature fleet management solutions that allow fleet managers to track each vehicle and its usage patterns. This reduces vehicle downtime massively and therefore allows for more profitability.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicle Business Unit was quoted as saying, "We are delighted to secure the prestigious order of 1300 vehicles from VRL Logistics ltd. I'm confident that our vehicles will bring great value to their operations. We, at Tata Motors, endeavour to engineer our vehicles to offer the lowest total cost of ownership and our widest service network will ensure best-in-the-industry service support in all corners of the country.
Thoughts On Tata Motors Receiving An Order Of 1,300 Commercial Vehicles From VRL Logistics
In the automotive industry, every single order placed for every single vehicle matters. When an order as big as this one comes in though, it provides lots of revenue to the manufacturer while the client gets value-for-money and lots of discounts in return. It is unclear just how long Tata Motors would take to deliver the 1,300 commercial vehicles, but it will surely add value to VRL's logistics operations.
