The event was also attended by the Honorable Justice Supreme Court (Retd.) Mr Vikas Sirpurkar, Owner and Dealer Principal of Aditya Auto Agencies - MrPrakash Jain, and other top executives from Tata Motors. Moreover, the event was held at Aditya Auto Agencies in Nagpur.
At present, Tata Motors have a commanding market share in the passenger electric vehicle segment in India and over 25,000 EVs have been delivered by the company till date.
At present, the EV lineup of Tata Motors consists of electric vehicles such as Tata Tigor EV, Tata Nexon EV and Tata Nexon EV Max. Out of these three electric vehicles, the Tata Nexon EV is the most recently launched electric vehicle.
Speaking about the newly launched Tata Nexon EV Max, the electric SUV is the long-range version of the Tata Nexon EV and the model promises increased range and performance compared to the standard version.
The new Tata Nexon EV Max is available in two variants - XZ+ and XZ+ Lux, and the prices for the electric SUV starts from Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
According to Tata Motors, the claimed range of the new Tata Nexon EV Max is rated to be 437km, which is 125kms more than the standard variant of the Tata Nexon EV. This added range is the courtesy of the larger battery pack used in the Tata Nexon EV Max.
The larger battery pack in the Tata Nexon EV Max is rated at 40.5kWh, which is around 10.3kWh bigger than the battery pack in the standard variant of the Tata Nexon EV, which is rated at just 30.2kWh.
Given the real-world range of the standard variant of the Tata Nexon EV is around 250km, it is safe to expect the real-world range of the new Tata Nexon EV Max to be a little more than the 300km mark.
In terms of charging, the Tata Nexon EV Max comes with a 3.3kW AC charger as standard, but customers can upgrade to a faster 7.2kW charger by paying extra. This upgrade reduces the charging time from 15-16 hours to just 5-6 hours.
With the new battery pack, the overall weight of the Tata Nexon EV Max has gone up by 100kgs compared to the standard version. To compensate for this added weight, Tata Motors has equipped the Tata Nexon EV with a more powerful 143bhp,250Nm electric motor.
In addition to the powertrain upgrade, Tata Motors has also equipped the new Tata Nexon EV Max with retuned suspension and upgraded brakes.
Thanks to these upgrades, the performance figures of the Tata Nexon EV Max have improved significantly as the electric SUV can now reach 100km/h from a standstill in under 9 seconds and reach a top speed of 140km/h.
To differentiate the Tata Nexon EV Max from the standard model, the model is equipped with a new 16-inch new 5-spoke alloy wheels and also sports a new exclusive intensi-teal dual-tone paint job.
Other changes include a new dual-tone black and beige interior, and a more stylish rotary-style gear selector with a digital display.
To justify the higher price tag, Tata Motors has equipped the Tata Nexon EV Max with features such as ventilated front seats, wireless charger, air purifier, electronic parking brake, auto-hold function, variable regenerative braking, cruise control, hill descent control, ESP and much more.
