Tata Motors has now announced that its flagship SUVs - the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari will be manufactured and assembled by an all-women team. Diving into the details, a team of 1,500 professional women will be responsible for making both these SUVs.

Recently, MG Motor India also rolled out its 50,000th MG Hector SUV with its all-women workforce at its Vadodara manufacturing plant. This all-women team were involved in various departments such as panel-pressing, welding, painting and more. In fact, some of them were even involved in post-production runs as well.

Coming back to Tata Safari and Tata Harrier, both SUVs are powered by the same tried-and-tested turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine. This powertrain produces a healthy 167.67bhp at 3,750 rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Apart from that, this diesel engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Moreover, both the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier SUVs come loaded with features such as a semi-digital instrument console, a large 9-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected car tech, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), smart keyless entry, push-button start/stop, power-operated ORVMs, auto-folding ORVMs, cruise control and many more.

As per the official ARAI figures, the Tata Safari's fuel-efficiency figure stands at 16.14 km/l for variants equipped with the manual transmission, whereas the fuel efficiency figure for the automatic variants stands at 14.08km/l.
