German sports car manufacturer Porsche has revealed the all-new 911 GT3 RS. The 992 Gen Porsche 911 GT3 RS arrives with 518bhp on tap and mental downforce numbers thanks to some rather crazy aerodynamic bits including a massive spoiler at the rear.

The all-new 992-gen 911 GT3 RS is powered by Porsche's 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six engine that revs all the way up to 9,000rpm.

The flat-six enginefeatures new camshafts with modified cam profiles so that the new GT3 RS cranks out 517.8bhp. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a new 7-speed PDK dual clutch automatic gearbox which features shorter ratios compared to the regular 911 GT3.

Porsche claims that the all-new 992 GT3 RS will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds (knowing Porsche, this estimate should be taken as a conservative one), which is the same as the previous GT3 RS and 0.2 seconds faster than the current 911 GT3.

The top speed of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is 296km/h, limited no doubt by the new acceleration biased gearbox and that massive dinner table of a rear wing that sits right above the engine.

To bring the all-new 911 GT3 RS to a halt as quickly as possible, Porsche has fitted its race car for the road with large discs at both the front and the rear. The standard brakes are steel units - 408mm at the front with 6-piston callipers and 380mm at the rear with 4-piston callipers.

Compared to the 911 GT3, the piston diameters of the aluminium callipers have been increased from 30 to 32 mm. In addition, the thickness of the discs has been increased from 34 to 36 mm. Customers can also opt for the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes which replaces the steel disc with larger carbon ceramic discs - 410mm at the front and 390mm at the rear.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS features 20-inch wheels at the front and 21 inchers at the rear. These forged light-alloy center-locking wheels are shod with 275/35 R 20 tyres at the front and 335/30 R21 units at the rear to provide bonkers levels of mechanical grip.

The bonkers design of the all-new 911 GT3 RS are not just there to give it cartoony looks and help generate insane levels of downforce - 860kg at 296km/h. This is twice the downforce generated by the previous 911 GT3 RS and three times as much as the current GT3. Insane aero bits include the front splitter, bonnet and wheel arch vents, side skirts and vertical fins on the bonnet.

However, the most insane aero bit is the bonkers swan-neck rear wing. This is the largest rear wing ever fitted to a Porsche GT car and it rises above the bonnet of the new GT3. The wing also features an F1-style DRS system that can open and close a flap to help increase top speed or aero levels at the push of a button.

Inside, the new GT3 RS features all the creature comforts of regular 911 but replaces the door pulls with fabric and features carbon-fibre sports seats as standard and a new steering wheel with buttons and knobs to control the car's new adaptive suspension setup.

Those looking for an extra bit of GT3 RS madness can opt for the Weissach pack which exposes more carbon fibre bits (many parts of the new GT3 RS including the 911 GT1 inspired doors are made from carbon fibre reinforced plastic).

The Weissach pack also adds front and rear anti-roll bars and a rollover bar made from CFRP while the paddles for PDK gearbox sport magnets to make shifts more tactile. The most significant change from the optional Weissach pack comes in the form of Magnesium forged wheels.
