Porsche 911 GT3 And 911 GT3 Touring Launched In India: Prices Start From Rs 2.50 Crore
Porsche has launched the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring in India. Prices for these rear-engined naturally-aspirated sports cars start from Rs 2.50 crore (ex-showroom, India).
Speaking about the Porsche 911 GT3, it is the German sportscars manufacturer's track-focused version of the 911 sports car, whereas the 911 GT3 Touring is the road-focused version of the track-focused 911 GT3 with a more subtle rear wing and almost similar levels of performance on a straight line.
Speaking about the performance, the new Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. This engine produces 503bhp and 470Nm of torque and this power and torque is sent to the rear wheels alone either through a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This along with the Porsche's clinical launch control system enables the 911 GT3 to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 320km/h. However, the 0-100km/h sprint takes 3.9 seconds on the models equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission.
Moreover, the new Porsche 911 GT3 also uses double-wishbone suspension on all four corners for exceptional control during high speed cornerings.
Both the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring come with seating for two people, top-shelf leather upholstery, electrically adjustable sports seats, a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 7-inch digital display on both sides of the rev-counter and many more.
Apart from that, Porsche also offers clubsport pack at no extra cost and this package adds a roll cage, a 6-point racing harness and a fire extinguisher. This gives the sports car a sportier and race car like vibe and adds to the experience of driving a 500+ bhp sports car on the road.
Previously, Porsche also launched the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and 718 Boxter GTS 4.0 in India and were priced at Rs 1.46 crore (ex-showroom, India), and Rs 1.49 crore (ex-showroom, India), respectively.
Both the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and the Porsche 718 Boxter GTS 4.0 are powered by a BS6 compliant 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. However, this engine produces slightly less power and torque at 395bhp and 420Nm of torque.
However, the torque figure jumps to 430Nm when the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 or the 718 Boxter GTS 4.0 is equipped with the 7-speed PDK automatic transmission.
Like the Porshe 911 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 Touring, this engine comes mated to a 7-speed PDK automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
