Mercedes-Benz India has announced that the company has commenced the production of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class at its state-of-the-art Chakan manufacturing plant in Pune.
In addition to that, the company had also rolled out the first unit of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class from its Chakan manufacturing plant.
The pre-bookings for the upcoming new-gen 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is already open for existing Mercedes-Benz customers till the end of this month and the German automaker planning to launch this model in India on May 10, 2022.
On the other hand, first-time Mercedes buyers can directly book the upcoming new-gen 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class from 1st May onwards by paying an amount of Rs 50,000.
Speaking about the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the 5th generation of this German sedan made its global debut on 2021 and this new model will be soon available in the Indian automobile market as well.
The new 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the most advanced version of the C-Class sedan till date. In terms of dimensions, the upcoming model is 65mm longer and 10mm wider than the current generation of the C-Class sedan sold in India.
In addition to that, the wheelbase of the new generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class was also increased by 25mm to 2,865mm. Thanks to bigger dimensions, the boot of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has grown by almost 30-litres in capacity.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is often regarded as the baby S-Class, and the new generation model also stays true to this by having both the interior and exterior that looks to have been inspired by the larger Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
On the exterior, elements such as the front grille, headlights, tail lamps, and front and rear bumpers are in line with the design of other updated Mercedes-Benz cars in India.
Moving inside, the interior design is very much in-line with the design of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with its two large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and digital instrument cluster. However, these screens can be upgraded to even larger 11.9-inch and 12.3-inch units with the upgraded MBUX infotainment unit.
In India, Mercedes-Benz will initially offer the all-new C-Class sedan with three engine options - C200, C200d, and C300d. Moreover, all these engines now sport a 48V belt-integrated starter generator.
The C200 is likely to sport a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 201.5bhp of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque, whereas the C200d will use a larger 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit with 198bhp of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque.
The C300d is the most powerful engine option and this model comes with a similar 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, but the unit pushes out 262bhp of peak power and 550Nm of peak torque.
Thoughts About Upcoming 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of the best-selling models for the German automaker in India and the company has sold more than 37,000 units of C-Class sedan in the country since its introduction in 2001.
With the launch of the new C-Class, Mercedes-Benz is looking forward to taking the game further and farther, and we expect the new C-Class to dominate the sales chart in its segment in India.
