The all-new Maserati Project 24 is based on the Italian marque's MC20 sports car, the new limited run car is a track only special. The new track car inherits the MC20's 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno but adds new turbochargers that raise the power levels to 730bhp.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential transmission. The Project 24 also features a racing clutch along with a mechanical limited-slip differential. The new Project 24 from Maserati rides on a set of forged 18-inch centre locking aluminium wheels that are wrapped in slick tyres. Braking duties are handled by Brembo CCMR ventilated brakes with a bespoke cooling system.

The Maserati Project 24 is obsessed with lightness with the Trident marque aiming for a dry weight of under 1,250 kilogrammes for its new track only supercar. To achieve this the Project 24 features a carbon fibre body and chassis.

The new carbon fibre body looks very different from the MC20 with its low nose, slim horizontal headlights, a very low and massive splitter element, and large scooped out vents on the bonnet with a large Trident logo completing the look at the front.

The new Project 24 also sports a large air scoop at the front along with a large shark fin connecting to the adjustable rear wing. The rear section features a large diffuser element as well as twin exhausts for the 90-degree twin-turbo V6 engine.

The interior has been stripped put to keep with the light weighting theme with the windscreen made from polycarbonate. The racing seat for the passenger is an optional extra for those looking to be really extreme with the weight saving while the carbon fibre racing wheel plays to a built-in display. Both the steering wheel and pedals are adjustable though Maserati has rather weirdly kept the air conditioning unit.

Speaking about the new Maserati Project 24, the Italian marque stated, "This time, Maserati design pushes the boundaries to the limits, free of the constraints usually seen in a racing car. The result is something never seen before, combining beauty with genuine sporty capabilities to become an instant classic collector's item. Maserati Project24 is the emblem of exclusivity and will offer a unique range of services, including track-specific experiences and state-of-the-art support, exclusively for the owners of Project24."

Thoughts About The Maserati Project 24

The Maserati Project 24 takes the Trident brand's MC20 supercar to a crazy new level with its insane devotion to weight saving (lets just not talk about the AC system). With its new turbos, the Project 24 pushes the Nettuno engine to 730bhp which will allow the rather special club of 62 owners to enjoy it to the max on the track.
