Mahindra XUV700, Thar Prices Hiked Again

Starting with the Mahindra Thar, prices for the petrol variant of the Mahindra Thar SUV has been hiked up to Rs 7,000 and this highest price hike was received by the automatic variant based on the LX Hard Top trim level. However, the rest of the three petrol variants of the Mahindra Thar received a price hike of Rs 6,000 each.

Thanks to this price hike of Mahindra Thar petrol variants, prices for the petrol-powered Mahindra Thar SUV start from Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the AX (O) trim with manual transmission. Whereas the top-spec Mahindra Thar LX automatic variant with Hard Top now costs Rs 15.82 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Coming to the diesel variant of the Mahindra Thar SUV, prices of all variants except the top-spec LX automatic variants (both CT and HT) have been hiked by Rs 28,000. As a result, prices for the Mahindra Thar diesel variants start from Rs 14.16 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

As mentioned earlier, prices for the top-spec Mahindra Thar LX automatic variants (both CT and HT) now cost Rs 26,000 more. This means the Mahindra Thar LX with automatic gearbox and Hard Top is now priced at Rs 16.29 lakh (ex-showroom, India) - Rs 9,000 more expensive than the similarly specced CT version of the Mahindra Thar SUV.

Diving into details, prices for the petrol variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV has been hiked up to Rs 36,000. This highest price hike was received by the AX3 automatic 5-seater variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV.

On the other hand, the least price hike among the petrol variants of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV was received by the 5-seater AX3 trim equipped with manual transmission. This variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV received a price hike of Rs 22,000.

It is also worth mentioning that the top-spec 7-seater AX7 L automatic variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV received a price hike of Rs 35,000, and the model is now priced at Rs 23.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Coming to the diesel variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV, the highest price of Rs 37,000 was received by the top-spec 7-seater AX7 L automatic AWD variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV. This variant of the Mahindra XUV700 is just Rs 5,000 shy of the Rs 25 lakh mark - Making it the most expensive variant as well.

Recently, Mahindra has updated the feature list of the XUV700 SUV. While the updated feature list sports a few new features, a few features have also been deleted as well.

Thoughts About Mahindra XUV700 & Mahindra Thar Price Hike

The latest price hike makes it the third price hike for both these SUVs this year. Despite that, we do not expect any change in the demand for both these SUVs.
