The Mahindra XUV400 is powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 147.5bhp and 310Nm of peak torque. The Mahindra XUV400 offers 3 driving modes - Fun, Fast and Fearless. Mahindra also offers a single pedal drive mode called 'Lively' that allows for seamless driving.

Mahindra claims that the XUV400 will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 8.3 seconds. The sprint to 60km/h takes only 4 seconds. The top speed of the XUV400 is 150km/h.

Powering up the electric motor on the Mahindra XUV400 is a 39.5kWh battery pack. This battery pack offers a range of 456km on a single full charge as per the Indian driving cycle (MIDC). The battery pack is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.

Mahindra claims the all-new XUV400's battery pack supports 50kW DC fast charging which pushes the charge from 0-80 per cent in just 50 minutes. When connected to a 7.2 kW/32A outlet, the XUV400 takes 6 hours 30 minutes for a 0-100 per cent charge and the same is achieved in 13 hours while using a standard 3.3 kW/16A domestic socket.

The Mahindra XUV400 is a well-proportioned SUV measuring 4,200mm long, 1,821mm wide and 1,634mm tall. The wheelbase of the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is 2,600mm long and features a 378-litre boot.

Mahindra XUV400 Design & Features

The Mahindra XUV400 looks quite similar to the eXUV300 concept seen at Auto Expo 2020. The front end is closed off with both the grille and front bumper sealed off due to the lower cooling requirements of an EV.

Taking centre stage on the blanked-off front grille is the copper-coloured Mahindra electrified twin peak badge. This copper element can also seen on the new XUV400's roof and on the sides where it highlights the wheelbase of the electric SUV. This bright copper hue is also seen on the interior of the SUV. The Mahindra XUV400 rides on a set of swanky new high gloss alloy wheels which feature a diamond-cut high-contrast surface treatment.

The Mahindra XUV400 also comes packed with a host of usable features. These include Android auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with 60+ connected car features which among other things can help you plan your routes by highlighting charging stations and other amenities on your drive. This connected car suite can also help you remotely control your XUV400's A/C and other features.

Mahindra XUV400 Colours, Launch, Test Drives, Bookings & Deliveries

The Mahindra XUV400 will be offered in five exciting colours: Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Infinity Blue with a dual-tone roof option in a Satin Copper finish.

Customer test drives of the Mahindra XUV400 will begin in December with the price announcement (launch) and commencement of bookings set for January 2023. Deliveries of the all-new Mahindra XUV400 will start by the end of January 2023.

The Mahindra XUV400 sees the Mumbai-based carmaker return with a bang to the world of EVs. Whether the new XUV400 has what it takes to topple the Tata Nexon will depend on the real-world range (which we should hopefully be able to comment on soon) and the price tag.
