Spy Pics: Mahindra XUV400 Electric Spotted Testing Ahead Of September Debut
Mahindra's electric XUV400 has been spotted testing ahead of its debut later this year. The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be unveiled in September this year.
Mahindra's electric XUV400 has been spotted testing ahead of its debut later this year. The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be unveiled in September this year.
The XUV400 will be among a host of electric vehicles that are set to arrive from Mahindra in the near future. The Mahindra XUV400 will be part of the utility vehicle maker's newly announced wholly owned electric vehicle brand dubbed EV Co.
Mahindra and British International Investment will both invest Rs 1,925 crore into the new EV Co. subsidiary. However, the Mumbai-based carmaker will reveal three new all-electric SUVs on the 15th of August before the XUV400 arrives in September.
Mahindra first revealed the XUV400 electric SUV as the eXUV300 Electric concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, the carmaker recently revealed details about XUV400 including the fact that the new electric SUV will be longer than 4 metres (4.2-metres) which shouldn't be an issue for the upcoming electric SUV as EVs are not covered by the sub-4-metre subsidy benefits.
The spy shots courtesy of Auto Comparo on Youtube give us the closest look at what the production version of the electric SUV will look like when it arrives in September. The spy pics of the Mahindra XUV400 reveal that the SUV has a rather different look from the carmaker's current crop of SUVs with the DRLs packed inside the sleek LED headlights of the electric SUV.
The front end of the electric Mahindra XUV400 also features a closed-off grille section something that is a common feature on electric vehicles. Also seen at the front of the test version of the Mahindra XUV400 is a large central air intake something that was not present on the eXUV300 electric concept from 2020.
The longer proportions of the SUV, which is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli platform are quite evident when viewed from the side. This view also reveals the test car's new set of alloy wheels, the size of which is currently not known.
The rear section of the XUV400 shows what seem to be wraparound taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler element.
Not much is known about the electric XUV400's powertrain options. However, the XUV400 is expected to feature two battery pack options as seen on the eXUV300 concept vehicle. The Mahindra XUV400 is also expected to feature a single motor setup with around 150bhp on tap to help it keep up with Nexon EV Prime. The new electric SUV is also expected to feature driver assistance systems (ADAS) when it arrives in September.
Thoughts About The Spy Pics Of The Mahindra XUV400
