Mahindra Scorpio-N: Here's What We Know Till Now

The Mahindra Scorpio-N will si on a ladder-frame chassis. The Scorpio-N has been snapped multiple time while testing and these images do tell us that the new SUV is a whole lot larger than the Classic version of the Scorpio.

Under the bonnet of the new Mahindra Scorpio will be the carmaker's turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel powerplants. Power will be sent to either the front wheels or all four wheels via manual and automatic gearbox options. Mahindra has yet to deliver any details about the output from the two engine options which are also seen on the carmaker's flagship XUV700 SUV.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N design is quite similar to that of the current SUV in terms of its overall boxy silhouette. However, the look of the SUV has changed with a large new grille flanked on either side by twin-pod projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Also seen at the front are new C-shaped enclosure for the fog lamps.

At the rear, the new SUV sports vertical taillights similar to those you found on older-gen Volvo XC90s and the SUV rides on new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The interiors of the new Scorpio-N are a big upgrade over the current model with a new touchscreen infotainment system, and a new three-row layout for the seats. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is expected to come packed with a host of tech features to keep feature focused buyers happy.

Thoughts On The Mahindra Scorpio-N

The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N does not shy away from its origins but it looks to change the game for the D-segment SUV section of the Indian market. We'll get more details on the 27th of June and hopefully when we get to drive the Scorpio-N from Mahindra.
