Mahindra Scorpio N Records 25,000 Bookings In Just 1 Minute - Sets A New Record

This is a record number for Mahindra, and it seems that the newly launched Scorpio N more than met the expectations of the automaker.

However, the success of the Mahindra Scorpio N should be credited to the XUV700 SUV as well. This is because the expectations for the Mahindra Scorpio N were based on the performance of the XUV700 SUV.

Though more than 1 lakh customers booked the Scorpio N SUV in under an hour, only the first 25,000 customers that booked the Scorpio N will get the SUV for the introductory prices. This was previously announced by the automaker itself.

Mahindra is planning to produce 20,000 units of Scorpio N SUVs by the end of this year and priority will be given to the ‘Z8 L' trim level of the SUV. This means customers who booked the Z8 L trim level get the SUV sooner than others.

Also, it is worth mentioning that the booked variant and colour can be edited through the ‘Booking Amendment Window'. However, this can be done till the midnight of 15 August only. Also, the deliveries of the Scorpio N SUVs are likely to commence from 26 September onwards.

At present, the new Mahindra Scorpio N SUV is available in 7 different exterior colour options - Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, and Grand Canyon.

The introductory prices for the Mahindra Scorpio N SUV start from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base ‘Z2' trim with petrol engine and goes up to Rs 24.1 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-end diesel ‘Z8L' trim equipped with an automatic gearbox, 4WD system and 6-seater configuration.

Mahindra has also introduced attractive finance schemes for the Mahindra Scorpio N SUV, and the new schemes include finance offers such as a low 6.99 per cent interest rate, 100 per cent on-road price funding, and tenure up to 10 years.

In terms of powertrain, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N SUV comes with one petrol engine and one diesel engine option - The latter available in two states of tune.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine puts out 200bhp of peak and 370Nm of torque. Moreover, the torque again goes up by another 10mm when paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission instead of the 6-speed manual transmission.

On the other hand, the base diesel engine comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission and the 2.2-litre turbocharged engine develops 130bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. This is the same engine that powers the Mahindra Thar as well.

The more powerful diesel engine produces 172.6bhp of peak power and 370Nm of peak torque. However, like the petrol unit, this powertrain can be specified with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the torque output is increased to 400Nm when paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
