Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has launched the all-new Scorpio-N in India. Prices for the Mahindra Scorpio-N start at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Test drives will begin on the 5th of July as will pre-bookings while bookings will open on the 30th of July. These introductory prices are valid for the first 25,000 bookings of the Scorpio-N.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Engine Specs & Gearbox Options
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is offered with either a 2.0-litre petrol or a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine of the all-new Scorpio-N produces 200bhp and 370Nm of peak torque when paired with the 6-speed manual transmission. The torque figure goes up to 380Nm when the 6-speed automatic gearbox is selected.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N's 2.2-litre diesel is offered in two states of tune. The lower-spec version of this engine cranks out 130bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. This version of the diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is only offered in rear-wheel-drive guise.
The more powerful version of the 2.2-litre diesel engine pushes out 172.6bhp and 370Nm of peak torque when paired with the 6-speed manual gearbox. When this more powerful version of the Scorpio-N's diesel engine is paired with the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox the torque figure rises to a peak output of 400Nm. The higher-spec diesel variant is offered in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive (dubbed 4Xplor by Mahindra) guises.
Mahindra Scorpio-N Design & Features
The all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N features a six-slat grille at the front of the long bonnet of the SUV. Flanking both sides of the grille are sets of LED projector headlamps. Also seen at the front are the scorpion tail-shaped DRLs that sit next to the fog lamps on the lower section of the front bumper.
The new Scorpio-N also features the scorpion sting element on the window chrome frame at the C and D-pillar areas. The new Scorpio-N sits on a set of new dual-tone alloy wheels which come in sizes as large as 18-inches in diameter. At the rear, the Scorpio-N features vertically stacked LED taillights and a spoiler as well. The Scorpio-N also features a sunroof, electrically folding ORVMs and a shark-fin antenna.
Step inside the all-new Scorpio-N and you'll be greeted by the dual-tone dashboard and the robust centre console with metal-finished dual rails. The interiors are draped in the Rich Coffee Black leatherette upholstery and the driver's seat can be adjusted in 6 different ways electrically. The 6-seater versions also feature Captain seats for the 2nd row of seats.
The Scorpio-N sports an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 70+ connected car features as well as support for both wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system also supports Amazon's Alexa voice assistant which can be used to control the infotainment screen and its functions using just your voice. The Mahindra Scorpio-N also features a 3D Sony surround sound system with 12 speakers and a dual-channel subwoofer.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N also comes packed with features like Dual-zone automatic climate control with a rear AC module, cameras at both the front and the rear, and a wireless charger for your smartphone.
The new Mahindra Scorpio-N comes packed with a host of safety features including 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, ISOFIX anchor points, and a tyre pressure monitoring system among many others.
The new Scorpio-N is offered with7 body colour options: Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, and Grand Canyon.
