Kia EV6 Teased Ahead Of Arrival In India - Bookings Open On May 26
South Korean carmaker Kia has teased the arrival of the EV6 electric vehicle in its Indian car lineup. Bookings for the new Kia EV6 in India will open on the 26th of May, 2022.
South Korean carmaker Kia has teased the arrival of the EV6 electric vehicle in its Indian car lineup. Bookings for the new Kia EV6 in India will open on the 26th of May, 2022.
The teaser video from Kia India starts by showing a headlamp unit from the Kia EV6 electric vehicle. The video shows what appears to be the startup lighting sequence for the headlights of the upcoming Kia EV6. The daytime running lights light up one by one as they head outwards towards the actual headlights which light up at the end of the sequence.
The video then switches to show off the side silhouette of the upcoming EV6. The side view shows the car's quirky design while also showing off the lighting signature on both ends of the upcoming electric flagship from Kia.
Kia recently announced that it would be opening bookings for the EV6 on the 26th of May. Kia is expected to bring only 100 examples of the EV6 into India in CBU guise.
The EV6 is expected to be sold through select Kia dealerships in major metro cities across the country. Prices for the new EV6 are expected to be announced later in the year, though we expect it to be easily north of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia is expected to bring the Long Range all-wheel drive trim of the EV6 into India. The Long Range trim offered in international markets comes with the long-range 77.4kWh battery pack.
In all-wheel drive guise, the Long Range version of the EV6 offers 321bhp and 605Nm of peak torque from two electric motors fitted on either axle. The range offered with this variant is rated at 441 kilometres on a single charge.
Thoughts On the Kia India's Teaser For The EV6
The new EV6 will be Kia's flagship vehicle in the Indian market. While we are disappointed that the first batch of Kia EV6s for India will be a very limited number (some say it will be capped at 100 units), we hope that it soon becomes a normal sight on Indian roads to see an electric Kia silently streak past you.
