Kia Carens Review Video — Third-Row Seat Comfort, Performance, Features, Boot Space: Watch It Here!

Kia India is all set to launch its fourth product, the Carens. Ahead of its launch, we got behind the wheel of the top-of-the-line Luxury Plus trim with a diesel engine paired to an automatic transmission. Here are our first impressions video of the Kia Carens.

The Kia Carens MPV is available in five variants: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury Plus. The company is offering the MPV in 6 and 7 seating configurations with the second-row seating offered in captain chairs or a single bench seat, respectively. The 6-seat option is reserved for the top-spec Luxury Plus trim.

Speaking about dimensions the Kia Carens is 4,540mm long, 1800mm wide, 1,708mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,780mm, which is the longest in its class according to Kia. The MPV also features a boot space of 267 litres with all-row seats occupied.

The exterior of the Kia Carens features LED lighting across the vehicle. This includes LED headlamps, taillamps, fog lamps and DRLs with dual-function turn-indicators. The MPV features 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on the top-spec variants shod with MRF Wanderer tyres.

Other exterior features include a signature Tiger nose lower-grille design, a flat design bonnet, all-around body cladding, functional roof rails, integrated spoiler and non-functional light-bar connecting taillamps on either side on the boot lid.

Finally, Kia is offering 8 exterior colour schemes: Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Intense Red, Sparkling Silver, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Gravity Grey and Aurora Black Pearl.

On the inside, the Kia Carens feature three choices of upholstery depending on the variant. However, the cabin itself is very practical with ample space and features on the third-row and second-row seats. This includes USB type-c charge ports, individual AC vents and cup holders. Seats in both rows offer reclining functions with adjustable headrests as well.

Other interior features include 10.25-inch infotainment, 12.5-inch instrument cluster, 64-colour ambient lighting, electric sunroof, rear window blinds, wireless smartphone charger, drive modes, ventilated front seats.

The Carens is offered with three engine options, which is the same as the Kia Seltos. We drove the diesel automatic variant which produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed torque converter unit.

The MPV is offered with a host of safety features as standard across variants. This includes 6 Airbags. Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Brake Assist System With ABS, Hill Ascent Control, Downhill Brake Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, front & rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera with active guidelines; among others.
