South Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the fourth-generation Tucson SUV in India. Prices for the Hyundai Tucson will be announced on the 4th of August and the SUV is coming to India in its long-wheelbase guise.
2022 Hyundai Tucson Exterior Design
The new 4th-gen Hyundai Tucson has undergone a radical makeover and looks rather different from the SUV it replaces. The new Tucson adopts Hyundai's 'Sensual Sportiness' design language
At the front, the Tucson features a large grille with a Parametric Jewel pattern. The grille features integrated LED Daytime Running Lights that occupy its edges. The headlights are stacked up vertically and sit on either side of the grille. The front end also sports a central air dam and a silver faux bash plate.
The India-spec Tucson rides in on new 18-inch alloy wheels which reside inside some rather bulbous wheel arches. The rear section of the new Hyundai Tucson is dominated by the taillights which feature sharp protrusions that jut down from the lightbar section that runs across the width of the SUV. The Hyundai badge is placed on the angled rear windscreen and Tucson also sports a roof-mounted spoiler element. Also seen at the rear is a faux silver bash plate.
New Hyundai Tucson Interior & Features
The new fourth-gen Tucson also sports a brand new minimalistic interior with dual displays for the driver and infotainment system. Both the driver's display and infotainment screen measure 10.25-inches with the latter a touchscreen unit with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a piano black surround. Beneath the infotainment screen sits another touch-based panel that hosts the controls for the dual-zone climate control system.
The Tucson also features heated and ventilated front seats while the ones at the rear feature the recline function. All the seats are wrapped in leatherette upholstery and the Tucson also gets features like wireless phone charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, 8-speaker Bose system, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, an air purifier, rain sensing wipers and electrical adjustment for the driver's seat with memory function.
The new Hyundai Tucson comes packed with a host of connected car features through Hyundai's Bluelink system which allows for OTA updates, voice commands, Alexa and Google Assistant support.
The new Tucson is Hyundai's first ADAS equipped vehicle for the Indian market. The SUV comes packed with features forward collision warning, blind spot assist, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert among others. The Tucson also features 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold control and all-wheel disc brakes.
2022 Hyundai Tucson India Specs
The Hyundai Tucson will be available in both petrol and diesel guises when it arrives on the 4th of August. Both petrol and diesel engines displace 2.0-litres with the former pushing out 154bhp at 6,200rpm and 192Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. The diesel powerplant churns out 184bhp at 4,000rpm and 416Nm of peak torque at 2,750rpm.
Thoughts On The New Hyundai Tucson For India
Hyundai's new 4th-gen Tucson SUV will be the South Korean carmaker's flagship (internal combustion) vehicle for the Indian market. With its distinctive design, and host of features including ADAS, the Tucson promises to be a brilliant offering when it finally hits Indian roads on the 4th of August.
