Force Gurkha SUVs Join Kerala Police Fleet: First Force Gurkha Fleet In Kerala
46 units of Force Gurkha SUVs have joined the Kerala Police force. Making it the first time Kerala Police has added Force Gurkha SUVs to its fleet.
Usually, Kerala Police uses vehicles from Mahindra for its fleet purposes and staying true to its roots, the southern state police has added 72 units of Mahindra Bolero SUV to its fleet.
This means a total of 118 SUVs have been recently purchased by the Kerala government for its police fleet in the state. According to sources, this fleet of new SUVs will be deployed across the state.
Moreover, the 46 Force Gurkha SUVs will be deployed at hilly areas, where having a rugged four-wheel-drive SUV is a basic necessity to access remote areas where potential Naxal related activities take place.
Speaking about the new Force Gurkha, it is an all-new model with an uprated chassis, exterior and interior.
When launched, the Force Gurkha was priced at Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, after a recent price hike, the new Force Gurkha retails for Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
In terms of design, the all-new Force Gurkha sports a new front and rear bumper, a new front grille with the 'Gurkha' logo, new LED headlights and headlight surrounds, new taillights, new body panels, new windscreen, and many more. This gives the new Force Gurkha an evolutionary design with a more muscular stance.
On the inside, the new Force Gurkha comes with a completely new interior with four captain seats. While the interiors are a definite improvement over its predecessor, it still looks pretty utilitarian and resonates with the intended purpose of the new Force Gurkha.
Apart from this, the all-new Force Gurkha also comes with features such as a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a part digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer and a tachometer.
Moreover, the new Force Gurkha is marginally bigger than its predecessor and Force Motors claims best-in-class legroom, headroom, and elbow room for its passengers.
Despite the utilitarian nature of the Force Gurkha, it comes with a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, central locking, manual air-conditioning, individual armrest, power windows, speed-sensing door locks, and follow me home headlights.
In terms of safety, the new Force Gurkha is well-equipped with features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems, speed alert, one-touch lane change indicator, and a few more.
The new Force Gurkha is powered by a tried-and-tested 2.6-litre Mercedes derived common rail, direct-injection, turbocharged diesel engine. This BS6 compliant engine now produces a healthy 91bhp of peak power and 250Nm of peak torque.
As standard, the new Force Gurkha comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and a robust four-wheel-drive system with locking differentials on both the front and rear axles for extreme off-road capability.
Thoughts About The New Force Gurkha
The Force Gurkha is one of the most capable off-road SUVs available in the country, making it an ideal choice for the Kerala Police fleet.
