Force Gurkha 13-Seater Spotted Testing - The Perfect Off-Road Camper?
While Force Motor has almost fully developed the much-awaited 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV, the Indian automaker has been silently working on a 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha as well.
This new 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV is expected to be launched alongside the standard 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV. In addition to that, we are also expecting Force Motors to offer different seating options with the Gurkha SUV such as 4-seater, 6-seater, 9-seater, and 13-seater options as well.
Looking at these latest spy shots, the Force Gurkha 13-seater version not only sports a longer wheelbase, but it also comes with the same ground clearance as the standard 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV, which in turn sports more ground clearance than the 3-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV.
In addition to that, the Force Gurkha 5-door SUV and the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV comes with side-facing seats on the last row.
It is also worth mentioning that the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV is not a completely new SUV, but it itself is a more off-road-worthy iteration of the Force Trax Cruiser commercial vehicle.
That being said, the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV will most likely sport almost identical exterior dimensions as the Force Trax Cruiser commercial vehicle. The outgoing version of the Force Trax Cruiser measures 5,120mm long, 1818mm wide, 2027mm tall and has a wheelbase of 3050mm.
For a perspective of the size of the 13-seater Force Gurkha SUV, a Tata Nano hatchback can almost fit inside the wheelbase of the Force Trax Cruiser commercial vehicle. For a vehicle with such massive proportions, the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV might not be suitable for everyone, especially with a 6.5m turning radius.
In addition to that, the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV looks almost identical to the standard 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV and even sports the same 255/60 tyres and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
We also expect the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV to sport 2nd and 3row AC vents on the inside to cool the enormous cabin.
That being said, the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV might just be the best camping vehicle when launched as it not only offers a proven 4X4 hardware, but it also comes with a lot of space behind the second-row seats.
With the growing trend for camping vehicles, a few modifications will make the upcoming 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV an ideal go-anywhere camping vehicle for your weekend getaways.
Also, powering the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV will be the same tried-and-tested 2.6-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This engine in the 3-door version of the Force Gurkha puts out 90bhp of power and 250Nm of torque, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of features, expect the 13-seater version of the upcoming Force Gurkha SUV to come with features such as a Kenwood 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a part digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer and a tachometer.
Other features include a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, individual armrest, speed-sensing door locks, power windows, central locking, manual air-conditioning, follow-me-home headlights, LED headlights, LED taillights, and a few more.
In terms of safety, we expect the 13-seater version of the new Force Gurkha SUV to come with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, rear-view camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), speed alert, and a few more.
Like the standard Force Gurkha, the front and rear locking differentials and snorkel will be standard fitment.
We expect Force Motor to price the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV around Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the 3-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV.
Thoughts About The 13-Seater Force Gurkha
While the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV might not even fit as a second car, it might just be the perfect go-anywhere camper with some minor modifications. With the growing trend for outdoor camping, we expect the 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha SUV to be a successful product.
