BYD Inaugurates New Showroom In Jaipur - Expands Operations Ahead Of Atto 3 Electric SUV Launch
BYD India has inaugurated its new showroom in Jaipur and this new 3,800-square feet showroom is managed by SKYY EVolution. This seventh BYD showroom is located near Jawahar Circle in Jaipur and it is equipped with an EV charging station, customer lounge area, a multi-car display and a few more amenities.
This new showroom is said to have a 'best-in-class experience' and was inaugurated by Mr Alop Mehta, Director of SKYY EVolution, Mr Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business of BYD India, and other senior officials.
Mr Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business of BYD India, said, "The Bengaluru region is one of the key markets for BYD India. Karnataka was the first state in the country to build a EV eco system and take the lead on electric vehicles. We are thrilled to enter the state with our first passenger vehicle showroom and with our global expertise in EPVs, we are geared up for offering range of pure electric vehicles in the coming years."
At present, the BYD e6 electric MUV is the only vehicle sold by BYD in the country and it is brought to India as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit. However, the automaker is now planning to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV in the country.
Mr Rajiv M Sanghvi, Managing Director of PPS Motors, said, "We have been witnessing BYD' success journey both globally & in India. We are delighted to associate with BYD India and extend our association in Karnataka and be a part of EV revolution in India. We have received an overwhelming response for the brand in Karnataka and have already garnered 27 bookings. The demand for EPVs is set to go up in the coming years and the environment conscious buyers will benefit from being able to access the best in EPV right in their city through this showroom. With competitive products from BYD, along with an in-depth understanding of customer requirements, we endeavour to provide the best ownership experience for our customers."
Speaking about the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV, it is one of the most-awaited electric SUVs in the Indian automobile market and when launched, it will compete against other electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV.
Recently, BYD India released the teaser of the Atto 3 electric SUV and according to a few sources, BYD is likely to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV on October 11. Moreover, a brochure of the upcoming BYD Atto 3 electric SUV was leaked online, and according to the leaked brochure, the upcoming BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is likely with two battery pack options - a 49.92kWh battery pack, and a larger 60.48kWh battery pack.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor with 201bhp of peak power and 310Nm of peak torque. Thanks to this powertrain setup, the upcoming BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is a lot more powerful than its immediate rivals.
The company claims that the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in just 7.3 seconds and can do 420km on a fully charged battery pack (60.48kWh) under the WLTP cycle. However, it is yet to be seen how this electric SUV performs under real-world conditions.
Recently, the BYD e6 entered the India Book Of Records after covering maximum distance on battery power. The record-breaking BYD e6 electric MUV covered 2,203 kilometres in 6 days and covered 9 cities on the way from Delhi to Mumbai.
Thoughts About The Upcoming BYD India & Atto 3 Electric SUV
BYD is rapidly expanding its operations in India ahead of the launch of the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV. However, the success of the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV will heavily depend on the pricing and the after-sales network.
