2022 BMW 3 Series Design Changes & Updated Tech
The facelifted 2022 BMW 3 Series features an updated design with changes similar to the ones seen on the 5 Series when it underwent its mid-cycle refresh.
The new 3 Series sports an updated front end with sleeker headlamps which make the iconic BMW kidney grilles look larger. Higher trimmed M-Sport versions sport a large central air intake on the front bumper flanked on either side by slimmer side intakes.
The sides remain unchanged and the wheels range from 17 to 19 inches in size. The rear end of the new 2022 3 Series features a new bumper with a re-profiled diffuser element.
Customers opting for the M Sport Pro pack get red brake callipers, black chrome exhaust tips and lip spoiler at the back done up in black. All chrome elements fitted to M Sport trim level are also turned black with the addition of this pack.
BMW is also offering the new 3 Series in four new colour options including 3 different shades of grey and a new blue paint scheme.
Step inside the new BMW 3 Series and you'll be greeted by the curved display driver and infotainment screen combo first seen on the iX electric SUV. In the new 3 Series, the driver's display measures 12.3 inches while the touchscreen infotainment unit comes in at 14.9 inches. The latter system can be controlled using touch controls, or BMW's iconic i-Drive controller.
However, the new 3 Series has dropped the climate control's physical switches for a menu on the infotainment touchscreen while the gear level has been replaced by what appears to be a toggle switch.
