The Bentley EWB is powered by the Volkswagen Group's tried and tested 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. In the Bentayga EWB, the V8 powerplant produces 542bhp and 770Nm of peak torque which is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox from ZF.

Bentley claims that the Bentayga EWB will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.6 seconds and will continue to accelerate till it tops out at 290km/h.

Bentley Bentayga EWB Increased Dimensions & Changes

Bentley has extended the wheelbase of Bentayga by 180mm to create the new Extended Wheelbase model. The Bentayga EWB measures 5,322mm long with the wheelbase measuring in at 3,175mm. All the extra growth in length can be seen at the rear door of the new Bentayga Extended Wheelbase which allows for more legroom for the passengers at the rear.

For the Extended Wheelbase SUV, Bentley has ditched the regular Bentayga's 7 seater configuration. Instead, the new Bentayga EWB is offered in three guises - 4-seater, 5-seater, and the all new 4+1 setup.

The new 4+1 setup will be the standard offering for the new Bentayga EWB and it features what the carmaker calls two outer rear seats with an occasional middle seat that can accomodate an adult and allows access to a ski hatch in the backboard. The two outer seats provide outstanding levels of comfort and feature 16 ways of adjsutment, heating, cooling and 5 different types of massage programs.

Owners can also specify the new Bentley Airline Seat which offers 40 degrees of recline, and 22 different ways of adjustment. The Airline Seat also features Bentley's new Seat Auto Climate system that monitors the temperature of the occupant along with the surface humidity and then automatically adjusts the heating and ventilation. Bentley's Airline Seat recline settings have two extremes - Business Mode and Relax Mode.

In Recline Mode, the seat is at its most upright position. In Relax Mode, the Bentayga EWB automatically moves the front passenger seat to its most forward psoition and sets the Airline Seat in the maximum recline position (40 degrees). Additionally, a footrest draped in carpet and leather and surrounded by a chrome strip extends out of the back of the front passenger seat to maximise comfort for the person relaxing at the back.

The Airline Seats can also adjust the different air pockets on the seats 177 times every three hours to continuosly change the shape of the seat to ease pressure points around the body preventing dead spots and fatigue build up.

Occupants of the rear seats can control all the functions of the Bentayga EWB's rear cabin through the new handheld touchscreen remote. The door and centre armrests are also heated for that extra level of comfort at the back. Also seen is the diamond illumination which uses tiny perforations in the new trim on the doors to emit light.
