ABT RS3-R Is A 300km/h Limited Run Custom Audi RS3 Sportback With 493bhp
German tuning housing ABT has gone to work on the Audi RS3 Sportback once again and the result is the 493bhp RS3-R. The ABT RS3-R has a top speed of 300km/h.
German tuning housing ABT has gone to work on the Audi RS3 Sportback once again and the result is the 493bhp RS3-R. The ABT RS3-R is limited to just 200 units but ABT has not revealed the custom car's price tag.
ABT are best known for tinkering and making monsters out of Volkswagen Group vehicles including the a host of Audi's and VW's own Golf hatchback. ABT's latest creation seems the tuning house go to town on Audi's 2.5-litre turbocharged inline 5-cylinder engine.
The result - ABT's RS3-R's engine now pushes out 98bhp more than standard car along with 100Nm more torque. ABT has extracted the extra oomph from the 5-cylinder turbocharged engine thanks to a new intercooler, a custom stainless steel exhaust system and ABT's own ECU unit.
The ABT RS3-R can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds, which is half a second faster than the standard Audi RS3 Sportback. In fact, this tuned ABT RS3-R is faster to 100km/h than Audi's flagship supercar, the Audi R8. ABT also allows customers to up the Audi RS3 Sportback's top speed from 250km/h to 300km/h.
The engine is not the only place where ABT has firmed up the RS3-R compared to the Audi RS3. The RS3-R features new carbon fibre body parts as part of a new aero package. These carbon fibre pieces include the front lip spoiler element, flicks on the front bumper, the mirror caps for the outside rear view mirrors, rear side skirt inserts and the roof spoiler.
The bonkers RS3-R rides on ABT-branded 20-inch forged alloy wheels that are shod with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport R 245/30 R20 tyres, which should hopefully help this little monster of a small estate put its power down onto the road surface.
Other changes come in the form of a sporty suspension setup. ABT has fitted the RS3-R with custom springs and sports stabilizer bars to the custom estate. The RS3-R is also offered with a fully adjustable suspension setup. ABT custom suspension setup can lower the ride height by 20mm at the front and 40mm at the rear.
Step inside the custom German car and you'll find seats with RS3-R logos. The interiors features an ABT RS3-R 1/200 inscription on the emblem badge placed on the dashboard and door sills. There are also ABT integrated entry lights with the ABT logo, floor mats with the RS3-R logo and the ABT start-stop-switch-cap.
