26 Units Of Volkswagen Polo Hatchbacks Delivered In Bangalore
The final batch of Volkswagen Polo hatchback was recently delivered in Bangalore. The delivery of these 26 units of Volkswagen Polo was done in a planned manner by all the Volkswagen dealers from Bangalore.
The event was held at Lalit Ashok and lunch was also organised by the Volkswagen management. Post lunch session, the event was hosted by RJ Pritvi from Fever 104.
Speaking about Volkswagen Polo, the 2022 iteration of the Volkswagen Polo recently scored an impressive 5-Star safety rating at the latest Euro-NCAP crash testing.
As per the test scores, the new Volkswagen Polo scored 35.9 points out of 38 points for adult occupant protection, and 39.5 points out of 49 points for child occupant protection.
In addition to these, the 2022 Volkswagen Polo scored 14.1 points out of the maximum scorable 16 points in the frontal impact crash test. Moreover, the German hatchback scored maximum points for the lateral impact test and scored 3.7 points out of 4 points for the rear impact test.
Apart from that, the overall safety for vulnerable road users was also tested as part of the crash test and the latest iteration of the German hatchback scored 38 points out of 54 points.
However, Volkswagen is yet to launch this model in India as the latest model of the hatchback is slightly longer than 4-metres. This ‘magic number' involves various tax benefits and could affect the final pricing of the product by a considerable margin.
Earlier, the German automaker also confirmed that the new Polo hatchback won't be coming to India despite the outgoing model getting phased out.
Speaking about the fifth-generation Volkswagen Polo, the hatchback made its official debut in India in 2010 and went on sale in February of the same year. It is also the German automaker's most successful model in the country in terms of volume as the company managed to sell more than 2.5 lakh units.
Recently, the Volkswagen Polo hatchback also underwent a major ‘heart' transplant back in March 2020 as the German automaker ditched the diesel powerplants and introduced new 1.0-litre engines.
This new 1.0-litre engine was available in both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged guises. Moreover, the 7-speed DSG unit was replaced by a simpler 6-speed torque converter unit.
Earlier, Volkswagen even launched the Polo GTI in India and unlike the regular versions, the GTI variant came with a 1.8-litre TSI engine that produced 190bhp of peak power. However, this model was sold in limited numbers and came with an eye-watering price tag of 25.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
Thoughts About Volkswagen Polo
The Volkswagen Polo is a favourite among many enthusiasts in the country as the hatchback delivered impeccable handling and solid build quality.
