German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the M340i sedan in India. The 2023 BMW M340i is priced at Rs 69.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Bookings for the BMW M340i are now open and the first customers can expect their imported German sedan to start arriving at dealerships ready for delivery in January 2023.
The 2023 BMW M340i is only offered in xDrive guise which means that the maddest of the 3 Series models for the Indian market is offered with all-wheel drive as standard. The new M340i also gets M Sport differential, M Sport brakes and M-specific suspension as standard.
The 2023 BMW M340i continues to draw power from a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger. The M340i's engine pushes out 368.8bhp between 5,500 and 6,500rpm and 500Nm of peak torque between 1,900 and 5,000rpm.
The 2023 BMW M340i's engine is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The BMW M340i sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and the German sedan can hit a top speed of 250km/h.
The 2023 version of the M340i has undergone a facelift that updates the design of the go-faster sedan. At the front, the new 2023 M340i sports a honeycomb mesh for the distinctive kidney grilles and the air dam that sits lower on the front bumper.
Also seen on the facelifted M340i are a new set of adaptive LED headlights, M-specific door sills, and new 19-inch alloy wheels. The BMW M340i is offered with a choice of three metallic colour options - Dravit Grey, Sunset Orange and Tanzanite Blue.
The interior of the new BMW M340i has also undergone quite a few changes for the 2023 model year. The updated M340i sports a large pane of glass that houses the twin driver and infotainment displays. The infotainment display is connected to a premium Harman Kardon audio system with 16 speakers, nine channels and a 464W digital amplifier.
Other features on the new BMW M340i for India include Alcantara Sensatec upholstery in black with blue/black contrast stitching, a head-up display, support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the M digital key among others.
Thoughts About The 2023 BMW M340i
The BMW M340i offers quite a bit of fun in a package that is also quite practical. While the price tag is on the high side due to the import duties, we don't expect BMW enthusiasts to stay too far away from the meanest 3 Series currently on sale in India.
