2022 TVS iQube - Can It Compete With The Best Now?
TVS recently updated the iQube electric scooter and the 2022 iteration of the electric scooter has been launched in 3 different variants - iQube, iQube S, and iQube ST.
Speaking about the 2022 TVS iQube, the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer has already launched the iQube and iQube S variants, whereas the top-end iQube ST is currently available for reservation.
The reservation amount for the TVS iQube ST is set at Rs 999 and this amount is fully refundable under cancellation. According to the TVS website, the deliveries of the TVS iQube ST electric scooters are stated to commence from September 2022 onwards.
Though TVS updated the iQube for 2022, the latest iteration of the electric scooter looks identical to the previous version with its slightly 'boxy' design. However, the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants do sport minor differences in terms of their visor design.
This change in visor design was incorporated to house the slightly larger touchscreen instrument cluster in both the TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants. Apart from that, all variants of the TVS iQube electric scooter come with their own exclusive colour options.
Speaking about features, the 2022 TVS iQube electric scooter range also comes packed to the brim with features like most electric scooters available in the market. This includes features such as LED headlamps, TVS SmartXonnect connectivity with App-based interaction, telescopic front suspension, front disc brakes, LED tail lamps, a 5-inch TFT touchscreen display (TVS iQube S and TVS iQube ST variants come with a larger 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster), multiple ride modes, reverse mode, keyless unlocking, social media notifications, Alexa-enabled voice assistance and much more.
Coming to the powertrain, this is where TVS has thoroughly worked to make the 2022 TVS iQube better than its predecessor and also match the best electric scooters in the Indian market.
While the updated TVS iQube range continues to be powered by the tried-and-tested 4.4kW electric motor from the earlier model, TVS have upgraded the battery packs and electronics package completely. Also, all three variants now sport larger battery packs.
Starting with, the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S now sport a 3.4kWh battery pack instead of the 2.2kWh battery pack. Whereas the TVS iQube ST variant on the other hand comes with a larger 5.1kWh battery pack.
Thanks to this larger battery pack, both the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S can cover 100kms on a single charge, whereas the TVS iQube ST can do 140kms on a full charge and the Power mode also helps attain a higher topspeed at 82km/h.
Speaking about performance, the TVS iQube and the TVS iQube S variants can attain a topspeed of 78km/h and all three variants of the TVS iQube can do 40km/h from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds.
At present, the TVS iQube has been priced at Rs 1.12 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru), whereas the 'S' variant has been priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru). However, TVS is yet to announce the pricing for the top-end 'ST' variant, but the model can be reserved for Rs 999.
Thoughts About New TVS iQube Electric Scooter
The new TVS iQube now gives its customers a wide variety of choices in terms of body colours and powertrain. This will give more flexibility to customers when choosing their electric scooter. Moreover, with a claimed range of 145km per full charge, TVS can not only compete with the best electric scooters in the market, but it is now among the best electric scooters in the market.
