2022 Hyundai Venue Base Variant Vs 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Base Variant - Which Offers Better VFM
Both Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki have recently launched the updated versions of their sub-4m SUVs, Venue and Brezza, respectively. Though the top-end variants of both these SUVs come packed to the brim with features, let us take a look at the base variants of both these SUVs.
The base variants of both these SUVs play a vital role in attracting customers with their aggressive pricing. At Rs 7.52 lakhs, the Hyundai Venue has a more aggressive price tag, as the base variant of the Brezza is Rs 47,000 more expensive.
However, the top-end variant of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is also Rs 1.25 lakh more expensive than the top-end variant of the Hyundai Venue.
So, let's compare the base variants of both these SUVs and see which one offers better value for your buck.
Staring with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Indo-Japanese automaker offers just one engine option. This powertrain is the same K15C naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also happens to power the updated new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6. This new engine is a mild-hybrid 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit with a total of 104.6bhp of peak power and 137Nm of peak torque.
Moreover, the electric motor alone produces 3bhp of power and this electric motor assists the petrol engine to achieve better fuel efficiency figures. The base LXi variant of the Brezza comes with 5-speed manual gearbox.
In comparison, the Hyundai Venue can be specified with 3 engine options. However, the base 'E' variant can only be had with the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine is not only smaller than the engine in the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, but it is also less powerful as it produces just 81.8bhp of peak power and 114Nm of peak torque.
This difference in powertrain gives Maruti Suzuki a big advantage over the Hyundai as the Brezza comes with a more powerful powertrain and this difference in power can be felt every time, especially on the open roads. In addition to this, the 2022 Brezza sports a mild-hybrid powertrain for more efficiency.
Now, coming to the exterior features, the base variant of the Brezza is equipped decently with features such as a roof spoiler, chrome grille, shark fin antenna, electrically adjustable ORVM, halogen projector headlamps, wheel cover and a few more.
In comparison, the base variant of the Hyundai Venue comes misses out on premium exterior features such as projector headlamps and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
Moving inside, the base variant of the Brezza SUV gets keyless entry, rear AC vents, front and rear power windows, tilt-adjustable power steering, gear-shift indicator and a few more.
The Venue on the other hand sports dual-tone interiors, a type-C USB charging port at the front, however, misses out on features such as rear power windows, keyless entry, gear-shift indicator, and rear AC vents.
In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza gain has an upper hand over the Hyundai Venue, as the Indo-Japanese SUV offers features such as electronic stability program (ESP), and Hill-hold Assist. However, both SUVs miss in curtain airbags.
Thoughts About Base Variants Of 2022 Hyundai Venue & 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Analysing the base variants, it becomes clear that the base variant of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza more than justifies the Rs 47,000 premium over the base variant of the Hyundai Venue with its more powerful powertrain, and additional convenience and safety features.
