The Tata Safari will continue to feature the brand's latest 'Impact 2.0' design language, while also being underpinned by the OMEGA architecture; based on the D8 platform of Land Rover.

The new Safari will also carry forward most of the design and styling elements from its Harrier sibling, with most of the changes being at the rear of the car. This includes a more upright tailgate with a revised set of LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler with an LED stop lamp.

Other design changes on the exteriors include a longer overhang, a stepped roof, newly designed alloy wheels and a larger quarter panel.

Inside, the overall dashboard and cabin layout at the front remains the same. The Safari carries forward most of the features and elements from the Harrier. This includes the same semi-digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls and even the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Tata Safari though now comes with the brand's iRA connected technology, which can be paired with a smartphone via a dedicated app. The connected tech offers a host of new features, along with remote access, voice assistance and many others.

The other main changes come in the form of the addition of the third row, a panoramic sunroof, new Benecke Kaliko Oyster White premium leather interiors, electric parking brake, third-row AC vents, 9-speaker JBL audio system and plenty of others.

Powering the new Tata Safari is the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as on the Harrier. This unit produces 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. All the power is sent to the front wheels via a 2WD system as standard across all variants.

The Tata Safari will be offered in a range of three colour options: Royale Blue, Orcus White and Daytona Grey. We recently drove the Tata Safari SUV and came out extremely impressed — here are our first driving impressions.

Thoughts On The Tata Safari SUV Launched In India

The Tata Safari SUV is now the latest flagship offering from the brand in the Indian market. The SUV also brings back the iconic 'Safari' nameplate, which should help attract customers towards the new model. The new Tata Safari in India will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Mahindra XUV500.
