Tata Safari Production Begins Ahead Of Its Launch: Here Are All The Details!
Tata Motors is all set to introduce their new Safari SUV, previously codenamed the Gravitas. The new Tata Safari is essentially a seven-seater version of the brand's Harrier SUV model. Tata Motors recently unveiled the official name of the upcoming seven-seater SUV, while also confirming its India launch later this month.

Ahead of its scheduled introduction in the Indian market, Gaadify has released an image showcasing the final production-spec version of the SUV at the brand's manufacturing facility. The image showcases the final design details of the SUV, which has been one of the most-awaited seven-seater SUVs for quite a while now.

As seen from the image, the new Tata Safari SUV will feature a new tri-arrow design on its grille. Apart from this, the front end of the Safari looks identical to the five-seater Harrier SUV.

The Safari also comes with the split headlamps with the LED DRLs on top and the main LED cluster lower down. The images also showcase the Safari sporting steel rims, indicating that the SUV could be a lower-spec model.

The side and rear profile of the Tata Safari, however, come with significant changes to help it differentiate itself from the Harrier. This includes larger rear quarter glass panel, longer dimensions to accommodate the third-row of seats, new boot lid design with new LED tail lamp cluster, stepped roof and new roof rails.

Inside, the dashboard of the Tata Safari is expected to be similar to the Harrier. However, the Safari will come with an additional third-row of seats, while the second row is expected to feature individual captain seats.

As seen from the prototype at the 2020 Auto Expo, the seats could come wrapped in ivory white leather upholstery, which along with the large windows give an increased sense of space. Apart from this, the new Tata Safari will also come packed with a host of features and equipment.

The Tata Safari will carry forward the same 2.0-litre diesel engine, which also powers the Harrier. This engine produces 173bhp and 350Nm of torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

Tata has confirmed that the bookings for the new Safari SUV will begin in the coming weeks, with the launch also being slated in January 2021. Deliveries of the SUV should start soon after its launch as well.

Thoughts On The Tata Safari India Launch Later This Month
The SUV once launched in India, will bring back the ‘Safari' nameplate in the Indian market. It will be the brand's newest flagship model and will rival the likes of the recently launched MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Creta 7-seater and Jeep Compass 7-seater models.
