Tata Safari Deliveries Begin: Singer Parmish Verma Becomes First Customer
Tata Motors have started deliveries of its latest flagship SUV, the Safari in the Indian market. The all-new Tata Safari is offered in a range of six variants and has a starting price tag of Rs 14.69 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Post its launch, deliveries for the Safari have begun. Indian singer Parmish Verma took to social media,showing him take delivery of the country's first customer car. He selected the top-spec XZA+ trim finished in Daytona Grey paint scheme. The car was delivered to the Indian singer at the brand's dealership in Chandigarh, Punjab.
The Tata Safari SUV is offered with a seven-seater configuration, with just the top-spec variant receiving a more premium six-seater configuration as well. This trim replaces the bench seats in the second row with individual captain chairs. The trim also comes packed with a host of other features, equipment and technology, making it an extremely attractive offering in the segment.
The Tata Safari was launched in India last week, while bookings for the SUV began a while back. The Safari is essentially a seven-seater version of the brand's Harrier offering. The new model carries forward a lot of components while also having a similar design.
However, while the front remains mostly identical, most of the changes have been made post the SUV's C-pillar. The Tata Safari features a larger overhang, extended quarter panel and an upright tailgate. It also comes with a stepped roof, revised set of LED taillamps and a slightly updated rear bumper.
The Tata Safari is also the second product from the brand to be underpinned by the OMEGA architecture, which is based on the iconic D8 platform of Land Rover. The Safari also carries forward Tata Motors' 'Impact 2.0' design language.
The SUV will come powered by a single 2.0-litre diesel engine, the same unit which does duty on the Harrier. Power and torque figures are also identical at 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. Thoughts On The Tata Safari Deliveries
The Safari nameplate already has a huge following in the Indian market, which Tata Motors is hoping will help boost the sales. The seven-seater Tata Safari SUV will take on rivals such as the MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.
