Tata Nexon EV Now On Sale In Nepal — Prices Start At NPR 35.99 Lakh
The Tata Nexon EV has been launched in Nepal. India's most popular electric car is now available in Nepal. It is priced at NPR 35.99 lakhs and interested buyers can book the sub-4-metre electric SUV for NPR 25,000.
Though the Nexon EV was available in India since January 2020, the electric SUV from the Pune based Indian manufacturer was recently launched in the neighbouring country, Nepal. Considering that the Nepalese car market is small, it is not surprising to see the Nexon EV is identical to the Indian version.
No changes have been made to the design or to the mechanicals. It also gets the same 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty for the battery and a 3-year/1,25,000 km warranty on the rest of the vehicle.
In Nepal, Tata offers the Nexon EV in three different variants XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The pricing starts from NPR 35.99 lakhs (Approximately INR 22.50 lakh) for the base variant, Nexon EV XM.
However, the recently launched Dark Edition of the SUV is not available in Nepal and is currently exclusive to India. Powering the Tata Nexon EV is a 30.2kWh battery pack, and converting that stored energy into propulsion is a single electric motor with 127.2bhp and 245Nm.
This powertrain setup gives the Nexon EV a maximum claimed range of 312kms. Since Nepal's climate is on the colder side with hilly terrain, we expect this number to drop slightly. However, the battery on the Nexon EV can be charged from 0-80 percent in just 1 hour using a fast charger.
Other features include rain-sensing wipers, connected car tech, auto AC, auto headlamps and many more.
Thoughts On Tata Nexon EV Being Launched In Nepal
The Nexon EV is a unique proposition in both countries since it doesn't have a direct competitor. However, Mahindra will soon launch the XUV300 electric to compete with the Nexon EV. For now, the Tata Nexon EV really is the king of the hill.
