Based on the majority of social media posts, we suspect the problem seems to occur on the 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Skoda says the problem could be due to the difference in fuel quality across the country.

As the problem has been diagnosed by Skoda, we expect Skoda to announce a recall of Skoda Kushaq's equipped with the faulty fuel pump.

Apart from this Skoda Kusaq is offered in India with two engine options and both being petrol only. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI is the frugal one with 115 Bhp and 178Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, but there is also an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option.

The 1.5-litre TSI engine is the more potent one with 150 Bhp and 250Nm of torque. Though, this engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and an option of an automatic transmission, the automatic transmission is a more advanced 7-speed DCT gearbox.

At present, Skoda Kushaq prices start from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant, whereas the top-end model goes up to Rs 17.6 lakh (ex-showroom).

Though the social media platforms are being flooded with numerous posts of Skoda Kushaqs breaking down, the Czech brand was quick to diagnose the problem. This shows the brilliant engineering team behind the brand.

Apart from this, we expect the Czech brand will offer to replace the faulty parts free of cost to its customers.
