Renault Kiger Prices Increased On Select Varaints: New Variant-Wise Price List
The French Automaker, Renault has increased the prices of the Kiger compact-SUV. The Renualt Kiger is the brand's latest offering in the Indian market, which was launched earlier in the year. The company had announced last month that all of its models will receive a price hike.
The Renualt Kiger has received a price hike on select variants. The price hike ranges between Rs 3,000 and Rs 33,000. The SUV is offered in a total of four variants: RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. The compact SUV is also offered in two petrol engines.
The prices of the base-spec RXE variant remains unchanged. As a result, the Kiger is still the most affordable compact SUV offering in the Indian market. However, the mid-spec RXL variant is offered with two engine options: the 1.0-litre NA and the turbo-petrol units.
The RXL variant fitted with the naturally aspirated engine is offered in automatic and manual gearbox options. The prices have been increased by up to Rs 23,000 for the particular variant. It is further offered in single and dual-tone paint schemes with different pricing. After the price increase, the RXL variant now retails between Rs 6.32 lakh and 7.62 lakh.
Coming to the higher mid-spec variant, the RXT is also offered in a host of combinations. This includes engine, transmission and colour options. The new pricing for the Kiger RXT variant is between Rs 6.80 lakh and Rs 8.80 lakh.
The top-spec RXZ variant on the Kiger is also offered in similar combinations as the RXT variant. However, the RXZ feature a lot more equipment. After the price hike, the Kiger RXZ variant retails between Rs 7.69 lakh and 9.75 lakh for the dual-tone automatic variant equipped with the 1,0-litre turbo petrol engine. The new Renault Kiger is manufactured at the French carmaker's facility in Chennai. The production of the Kiger takes place alongside the Renault Kwid, Renault Triber and the Nissan Magnite; all of which use the same CMF-A+ platform.
As mentioned before, the Renault Kiger is offered with two engine and gearbox options. This includes 1.0-litre (NA) Naturally-Aspirated petrol and turbo-petrol units. The NA engine produces a maximum of 72bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. The engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual or an AMT automatic.
The powerful turbo-petrol unit produces a maximum of 100bhp and a peak torque of 160Nm. Further, the engine is offered with a choice of either five-speed manual or a superior CVT automatic.
The Renault Kiger rivals the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and the Toyota Urban Cruiser; among others sold in the Indian market.
Thoughts About The Renault Kiger Prices Increased On Select Varaints
Despite the increase in pricing, the starting price of the Renault Kiger remains unaffected. It continues to be the most affordable compact SUV offering in the Indian market and undercuts the Nissan Magnite.
