Oppo Is Planning To Launch EVs In India By 2024
Oppo is planning to launch electric vehicles in India by 2024. The Chinese tech giant has already started the planning process for making the electric vehicle that has been stated to make its debut by 2024.
Even though the company is already making some progress and have managed to file multiple trademarks for numerous types of electric vehicles and driverless transport systems, the Chinese company is being tight-lipped about the specifications of the electric vehicle they are working on.
However, it is certain that the company must have set some high standards as its main competitors across the globe have already set the bar quite high. Being a tech company, we do expect some high levels of connectivity and multimedia features along with top-tier user interface systems.
That being said, Oppo is owned by BBK Electronics, which also happens to own other tech companies such as Realme, OnePlus, Vivo and IQOO.
Coming back to the topic of electric vehicles, the market share of EVs in India is steadily rising, especially in the last-mile delivery industry. We expect more participation from both the government and automobile manufacturers to make the personal EV sector gain similar levels of momentum.

Visually, the Xpres-T EV carries a near-identical silhouette to the Tata Tigor EV. However, there are minor changes everywhere to keep the cost down. Moreover, the Xpres-T EV cannot be registered as a private vehicle.
Unlike the Tigor EV, the Xpres-T EV comes with two choices for the battery pack with a capacity of 16.5kWh and 21.5kWh. Apart from that, the Xpres-T-EV uses 72V electrical architecture.
Powering the Xpres-T EV is a 3-Phase induction motor with 39.4 bhp and 105Nm of peak torque and when coupled to the 21.5kWh battery pack, it will provide an ARAI certified range of 213 kms. Whereas the Xpres-T EV equipped with the smaller battery pack comes with an ARAI certified range of 165 kms.
The Xpres-T EV can charge from 0-80 per cent in just 90 minutes for the 16.5kWh model and 110 minutes for the 21.5kWh model.
In contrast, the two-wheeler industry has started to show signs of a major revolution with Ola electric scooter receiving more than 1 lakh pre-bookings. Moreover, companies like Ather is working on major expansion projects.
Thoughts About Oppo EV
Oppo is backed by the Chinese tech giant BBK electronics and the Chinese company has more than enough resources to make a world-class EV. Apart from that, having extensive experience in smartphone making and manufacturing, it is safe to expect a top-tier electronics suite and user interface.
