Nissan India has announced that its recently launched Magnite SUV's bookings have crossed 35,000 units mark in the Indian market. The company has received an overwhelming response for the Magnite compact-SUV in the country.
The Nissan Magnite was launched on December 2, 2020, and was offered with an introductory starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom (India). This made the Magnite the most affordable compact-SUV offerings in the country.
The company recently announced a price increase on the compact-SUV by Rs 50,000. However, only the price of the base-spec XE variant was increased. As a result, the Nissan Magnite now retails at a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh, ex-showroom (India). Despite the price increase the Magnite continues to be the cheapest compact-SUV sold in India.

The company is offering the Magnite compact-SUV in two petrol engine options: The lower-spec 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated unit and the top-spec 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally-aspirated unit produces a maximum of 71bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm. Ths engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.
On the other hand, the top-spec 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine churns out a maximum of 99bhp and a peak torque of 160Nm. The turbo-petrol engine is offered with either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
The Magnite comes packed with features such as LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, LED split-tail lights, faux skid plates at both ends, and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and the brand's connected technology as well.
Some of the other features include a segment-first 360-degree parking camera, a multifunction steering wheel with mounted controls, climate control system, semi-digital instrument cluster, and keyless entry; among others.
