New Tata Safari Arrives At Dealer Yard Ahead Of India Launch: Here Are All Details

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new-generation Safari on the 72nd Indian Republic Day. The company has also announced that the SUV will be available in showrooms from this month itself. Ahead of its launch, the new Tata Safari has been spotted at a dealer yard.

Images from Rushlane, reveals the new-gen model of the SUV at a dealer stockyard standing next to the old-gen model of the Safari SUV. The company also recently launched a new TVC showcasing some of the design features of the new Safari — here are the details.

The all-new Safari borrows most of its design details from the Harrier SUV. The company first showcased the new Safari, which was called the Gravitas at the 2020 Auto Expo last year. It is essentially a three-row-seat version of the Harrier SUV. As a result, many design and features are shared between both models.

However, the company has given the new Safari a few design changes to tell it apart from the outside. This includes the new tri-arrow mesh grille, flared wheel arches, larger overhang and quarter glass panel behind the c-pillar that looks reminiscent of the older Safari models.

The new Safari also features a new alloy wheel design, a new restyled boot lid, tweaked LED taillights connected by a gloss-black panel, a 'SAFARI' moniker that is finished in chrome and placed on the boot-lid, silver-finished roof rails and more. However, the Safari will also feature the same split-syle headlamp design used on the Harrier SUV.

On the inside, the new Tata Safari is expected to carry forward a similar dashboard design as the Harrier. However, the interiors of the Safari will feature a new seat upholstery along with an Oyster White cabin theme, and a host of elements finished in soft-touch material.

The Safari is expected to be offered in six and seven-seat configurations. The middle row will be either offered with captain seats or a bench seat, which will feature 60:40 split for easy access to the third row.

Other features on the SUV include a panoramic sunroof, semi-digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, automatic climate control, and rear air-con vents; among others. It is also expected to get the brand's latest form of connected technology called the iRA with all its smart functions.

Under the bonnet, the Tata Safari will be powered by the same engine as the one seen on the Harrier SUV. This includes the 2.0-litre diesel engine producing a maximum of 173bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm.

The engine could be offered with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Tata Motors is also expected to introduce 4x4 hardware to the new Safari, which has always been the SUV's highlighting factor.

Thoughts About The New Tata Safari Arriving At Dealer Yard Ahead Of India Launch

According to the company's statement, the new Safari will be available starting from January. As a result, Tata Motors could soon start accepting pre-bookings and start test drives and deliveries soon in the market. The Tata Safari will rival the Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus in the Indian market.
