Another indication is the top part of the grille is completely sealed. This could be done to enhance the aerodynamic ability of the upcoming EV hatchback.

Also, the WagnoR EV sports a Toyota badge. The alloy wheels taken from the Maruti Suzuki Ignis features a Toyota emblem on the centre cap. This means that the WagonR EV, at the time of launch, could be sold in Toyota's line-up.

The partnership between both brands has already spawned the Toyota Glanza (rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno) and the Toyota Urban Cruiser (rebadged Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza). Whether the third model launching under the partnership will be the rebadged Ciaz or the rebadged WagonR EV remains to be seen.

Comparing the design of the WagonR EV test mule to the outgoing ICE version of the hatchback in the country, we could spot a couple of differences. Starting with the front fascia, it features a split-style headlamp design with DRLs placed on top and main headlamps placed at the bottom.

The test mule also features fog lamp units, which are placed way down the bumper below the main headlamp units. The fog lamps are integrated into the lower radiator grille. While the upper section of the faux grille combines DRLs on either side creating a seamless look.

The test mule also reveals the rear design, which has undergone subtle changes. This includes an all-new rear bumper design with a two-tone look and vertically placed rear reflectors. The taillamps also feature a smoked look.

The company is yet to reveal the specifications, range and performance of the electric powertrain of the hatchback. However, the electric hatchback is expected to come with both standard and fast-charging capabilities.
