Mahindra Recalls More Than 600 Vehicles Manufactured At Its Nashik Plant — Here’s The Reason
Mahindra has announced a recall of more than 600 vehicles that were built at its Nashik manufacturing plant. The recall of these 600+ vehicles has been initiated based on the suspicion of premature wear of certain engine parts while using contaminated diesel.
In the regulatory filing, the company stated that the manufacturing plant at Nashik received contaminated diesel and this fuel was filled in those 600+ vehicles. As a result, it may cause premature wear on certain engine parts.
To rectify this, Mahindra will individually contact those customers who have purchased the affected vehicle and inspect the vehicle for any problems. If any problems are found, Mahindra will rectify the problem free of cost.
Mahindra manufactures the Scorpio, Marazzo, XUV300, Bolero and Thar at its Nashik facility. However, the company has not released any information regarding the models affected because of the contaminated fuel.
The running-in or break-in period is extremely important for an engine. The quality of fuel being used also plays a major role during this period.
