Lamborghini To Make Electric Vehicles: Fancy An Electric Lamborghini Urus?

As of now, the Lamborghini Sian is the Italian brand's only hybrid car and comes with a 48-volt hybrid system, and all of them have been sold out. That being said, Lamborghini is the only brand that currently has its entire line-up made of supercars with naturally-aspirated engines. Except for the Urus which is an SUV that is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine.

However, we are not sure what type of electric drivetrain will be featured in Lamborghini's EV in the future as Lamborghini is very tight-lipped about the matter. Unlike other premium brands under Volkswagen, Lamborghini always tends to break away from the trends set by other automotive brands.

Going by that logic, we expect something completely out of the box in terms of power storage. Lamborghini's limited-run hybrid hypercar - Sian - already uses a supercapacitor instead of bulky battery packs for storing electricity.

We expect Lamborghini to introduce hybrid powertrains by 2024 in their existing models such as the Huracan, Urus and the upcoming Aventador successor. After that, it is onwards towards the electric age.

Thoughts On Lamborghini Going The All-Electric Way

Lamborghini had traditionally worked closely with Audi after the brand had been taken over by the German giant, Volkswagen. However, Lamborghini has also kept a fair amount of bespoke innovations to itself. So we expect something radical to set it apart from the entire Volkswagen family line-up.
